This is particular with Dell Computers tag number system. I was selling an expensive Dell Server with a Enterprise Server edition of Windows Server 2003. The winning bidder DIVINEUSER requested me to send him the Dell computer tag number. I send him a copy of the tag number with fingerprint to keep the seller from seeing the entire full tag number. He claimed there is nothing why I should hide the tag number because this is for the purpose to verify that the computer and the server license is legitimate. This is a trick to scam you out of an expensive serial key and even your warrantee. If a client gets access to a computer Serial Tag, all that he has to do is to file for a transfer of ownership. The Con-artist makes a fake tag and place it on a counterfeit machine making you ellegible to get replacemetn disk and maintenance on the machine!! BE very carefll when buying from this con-artist. I reported the incident to Ebay but was not able to do anything. THe CON even left me a dishonest feedback on the day that the new feedback policy for buyers only was inacted earlier in May.
