I've wanted to start an eBay blog for some time now, but couldn't quite figure out how to do it. Now that I've found some answers, I figured I'd pass along what I learned in my first post.

When you first start your blog, the page you encounter will ask for a title, description and tags. I'm used to blogging on MySpace, and so at first I thought this would be the title of a blog ENTRY. It's not. It's the MAIN header title (like "Sue's Muse" above). But don't worry if you can't come up with something at first--- you can change it later.

I'm generally a tad concerned when I am trying out new eBay 'toys', that I will post something really stupid and not be able to fix it, but it turns out you can even delete the entire thing if you don't like it.

Fortunately a member 'shipscript' made up a CSS (cascading style sheet) template that can be used to customize the page color for those of us who don't know CSS. It can be found here: eBay Blog Styler . For now I'm going to stick with the 'blackberry' color scheme, because although I could probably eventually learn about CSS coding, I'm up to my ears in other projects.

What I was specifically researching when I found shipscript's Blog Styler was 'how to add a hyper-link to your blog', because I know some html, but all the entry boxes I encountered say 'HTML cannot be displayed'!

Well! I've seen several blogs with photos and hyperlinks in them, so there had to be a way to do it. It turns out that after you have titled, tagged and described your blog, THEN you can start adding entries (like this one) and THAT'S where you can enter some html tags--- BUT you can't enter it in the 'post' box the way it is.

So, if you are following along, after you have set up your blog space, you will be instructed to post your first entry. In order to add a hyperlink or other html tag, you have to check mark the 'View Source' box, which is under the font drop down menu. Capice?
