Archive - June 2008 When Great PS3 Deals Gone BadPosted Jun-07-08 17:20:06 PDT You know the saying "If it's too good to be true, it's not going to be true". I want to share with you my online experience with Dell.com. I'm pretty sure most of you have experienced a sale with them and have them turn around and tell you that you aren't getting that price. Well here is what happened. It was 1:30am when I got a phone call from my brother. He goes, "Hey Bro, there's a sale on PS3 on Dell.com. It's on their business section of their website. I saw it on Slickdeals.net. You should check it out" I was just surfing and I checked out Slickdeals and to my surprise, Dell has a awesome deals on a 40Gig PS3 system which retailes for $399.99 and also it comes with 2 games (Resistance: Fall of Man & NBA 08) with Free Shipping all for $280.00 Who would pass up that price. A PS3 system with 2 free games and free shipping? I couldn't believe my eyes. I clicked on the link on slickdeals and went straight to the deal. I was in for one. Then I thought about it, why 1 system when I can get 4 or 5 and make a little bit of dough out of it. So I changed it to 3, then I changed it to 4. My logic was to sell the other 3 with the 8 games and make my money back and keep the 4th one for FREE. I would probably make my money back and more and still have the 4th one. I've dealt with Dell a few times purchasing Laptops and desktops but never a game console. My initial reaction was that it had to be a pricing error. But then I've read some of the comments on Slickdeal's forum and people were saying that Sony are going to lower the price and some big retail chains are offering $100 Gift card. Well, that make sense for Dell to do this then. As I confirmed my purchase for the 4 systems, something inside me told me that this deal is too good to be true. I got the confirmation email regarding the acknowledgement of the purchase. Then I was giddy when I got the email that my order is in process (production stages) to be shipped. It was going to be shipped in 3 days. I jumped for joy. I was happy. Now I can go out and get Metal Gear Solid 4. A bunch of people were using Next day delivery incase it was a price mistake and get their system shipped out before Dell catches on. A couple of days went by and my order was still in production. It was the day before the shipping date and my order still hasn't been cancelled. I was hoping for the best. I went back on to the forum and it seems that a Cancellation email was sent out for this deal by Dell. Oh no! That was reaction. Some stupid person called Dell up to expidite his order. "What a dumbass!!" He just ruined it for everyone. The next day I woke and checked my email. Like everyone else, I recieved the cancellation email. I know some of you are thinking, "why can't Dell honor this price?" Well, apparently, in their policy, it indicate on thier web pages and advertising, Dell reserves the right to cancel orders arising from pricing or other errors. What a load of BS. Here is the cancellation email that was sent: Dear Dell Customer My Name, Thank you for your recent order number, XXXXXXXXXX We regret that a pricing error recently occurred for the PlayStation gaming console, NBA 08, and Resistance: Fall of Man. The price was erroneously listed as $280 when the actual price is $399.99. As a result of this error, we are cancelling orders generated at the incorrect price. As we indicate on our web pages and advertising Dell reserves the right to cancel orders arising from pricing or other errors. We regret our pricing error, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Dell strives to make your experience with us a pleasant one. Please be assured that we are working hard to avoid similar issues. We welcome you to visit our website at http://slickdeals.net/?sduid=0&sdtid=837112&sdfid=30&u2=http://www.dell.com to place a new order at the correct price. Thank you for choosing Dell. Sincerely, Dell From what I hear, Dell always makes these kind of price mistakes. I think they should have someone proof read thier stuff before they start posting it on their site. What a waste of 4 days. Have any of you ever experienced soemthing like this before? Well here is the link if you're interested in what was said during this whole price error ordeal http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=837112. -Jerseydock www.buymiiawii.com 5 of the Dumbest & Lamest Games on Next Generation SystemsPosted Jun-06-08 12:15:46 PDT Updated Jun-06-08 12:31:10 PDT I've played many games in my life time and I thought next gen games are supposed to be far better. I thought that the game developers have learned their lessons. Well, I guess not. You have to avoid these games at all cost. They're miserable, bad and they just plainly STINK! 5. Bomberman Act Zero (Xbox 360) This game was developed in 2006. Hudson has turned this franchise into crap with the release of Bomberman Act Zero for the Xbox 360. Bomberman was supposed to be a addictive party game franchise. It's cute and fun for all ages. This game looks like Bomberman inside a spaceship cargo. You know the saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". This franchise was never broken, why try to fix it? Is it because we're in a new generation of games. The funny thing is, this game doesn't even feature Bomberman. Updating this franchise with a realistic feel was a bad move by Hudson. It turned a fast pace addicting party game into a slow, non addictive game with bad camera angles. The sad news is, the game retails for $50. You can get something better for that price.
4. NinjaBread Man (Nintendo Wii) Don't you ever have the misfortune of playing this horrific game. When this was released, it was retailed for $29.99 but the price has dropped to $19.99 but even for that price, I wouldn't buy it. The game last about a half an hour. A HALF HOUR? 3 levels completed at 100% and you're booted right back to the main menu screen. I actually thought I pressed Quit by accident. Wait a minute, did I say this game was bad? Actually, I finished this wonderful game but in the process, I poked by left eye out with a knife at how horrible it was. I played until I cried but thank goodness it only last 30 minutes. This games brings us to another game that runs on the same engine, Anubis II. Controls and lameness are exactly identical. Atleast the idea of a Ninja Breadman was good. No it's NOT! 3. Anubis II (Nintendo Wii) Like Ninjabread Man, this game is one of the worst game ever created. If you're in a store and looking for Wii games, just slowly turn around from this one and look else where. The games has 9 levels and could be completed in 3 hours. But you will never get those 3 hours back. This game also was retailed for $29.99 but then on sale for $19.99. Go figure. In between levels, there are some impossibly dumb mini games that gives you no chance to figure out. Some would say that it's a great game for kids but not adults. I say, let your kids play and witness as this games finds it way into the "DO NOT PLAY" section of thier game collection. Your best bet is to not let this game find its way into your home at any cost. 2. Vampire Rain (Xbox 360) When I first rented this game and watched the intro, I was amazed at how beautiful the graphic and animation was but that was about it. Picture Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid & Splinter Cell but with lots of rain and Vampires. Nothing about this game was enjoyable or fun. Graphics pretty much sucked and most of the time you're sneaking around. I'm not saying sneaking around isn't fun but this game takes that fun factor out of it. I can barely get through 10 minutes of this crap let alone try to play the entire game. I know the game has multiplayer mode, but I didn't even bother to try it. If the game developer of Vampire Rain are going to rip off another franchise (Splinter Cell, I mean just look at the main character) but adding some supernatural enemies, at least do it right. My advice is to return the game and get your money back. I bet the people at Gamestop are laughing at you for even buying this game. 1. Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire (PS3) I'm not sure what Namco Bandai was thinking when they brought this game to the PS3. How many people were working on this title? The frame rate is so bad, the game is so unplayable. Effects are lame as well as weapons and backgrounds. It's a lazy attemp to bring the Gundam license to the PS3. It's so disppointing in every aspect. This game really fails to bring excitement to the gamer. It's going to make your PS3 look really retarded to say the least. This game is such an embarrassment to the Gundam franchise. Maybe it was rushed to meet the PS3 launch. Clearly fans of this series should deserve better than this. I have nothing more to say about this game because it clearly SUCKS! This sums up 5 Dumbest & Lamest Next Gen Games that I've regret even renting. If you even bought this game, I pity you. Go and redeem yourself and get MetalGear Solid 4, Mario Kart Wii and Grand Theft Auto 4. You'll feel much better. Seriously, Has anyone even played any of theses games? What are your thoughts? Bet it was the same as mine. -Jerseydock www.buymiiawii.com "Your online GameCube & Wii Store" What if Metal Gear Solid & God of War Game turned into Hollywood Films?Posted Jun-03-08 21:21:47 PDT Updated Jun-03-08 21:36:11 PDT

www.buymiiawii.com "Your online Gamecube & Wii Source" Sam's Club Saving Wii systems to Sell at a Later DatePosted Jun-01-08 21:12:06 PDT I was reading different news and blogs and came across this. A couple was shopping at Sam's Club and came across a Wii system in the electronics department. I guess the guy was looking for a Wii system for a while and finally found one at Sam's Club. It was the last one in the show case and he kindly asked the sales person if she can hold it for a half hour while they finish shopping. The couple was happy that they finally found a Wii system and are ready to take it home. The sales person held the Wii and once the couple finished shopping, they went back to the electronics department to pick it up. The sales person tried to the scan the Wii and nothing was coming up. She tried and tried again but still nothing rang up on the computer system. She made a call to upper management and told them the situation. It turns out that they have more than 1 system, they have 100 Wiis in stock. But the catch was, they can't sell it. They were saving the Wiis for a "Grand Re-Opening". He wanted to speak to Upper management but they refuse because it was something so small so they said "If you really want one so bad then come back next week and wait in line for Sam's Club to open to get one. The man replied that he doesn't have time because he has a regular full time job. Don't you think that was a rude comment? Not the man is furious but he kept his cool and thank the sales person and asked if he can get the number to call the district manager. It turns out that there isn't one, so she gave him the head office. The customer called and left a couple of messages of how displeased he was and that Sam's Club should have did something to compensate him. Which I totally agree with. At of right now, no calls were returned and the customer, I mean Ex-customer had cancelled his membership with Sam's Club. I think Sam's Club should have sold him the one that was left on the floor. I mean, if they really wanted to save it for the Grand Re-Opening, they should of put all 100 in the back room so this situation wouldn't have happened. What is selling one Wii going to do? They would still have 99 of them and it was their fault anyway. I really thought that the Wii are now in stock in most stores. I guess I'm wrong. -Jerseydock www.buymiiawii.com"Your online Gamecube & Wii Source" |
