I was surfing the internet reading up on some Gaming News and came across this article. Basically, someone was inside a Gamestop store in Florida and watched as Gamestop, once again, rips off Gaming patrons. A man, problaby in his 30's was stunned when he saw a Wii sitting on a shelf behind the counter at Gamestop. He asked the GS sales person how much was the "USED" Wii. The GS sales person replied $249.99. The man asked why is it the same price as a "NEW" Wii and the GS sales person simply replied, "The Wii is hard to find and that's why a used one is the same price as a new one" The man was shocked when he heard the reply. I would too. He was problaby thinking what I would be thinking. "Game stop is trying to sell me a "USED" Nintendo Wii for the same price as a "NEW" Nintendo Wii. Is this store trying to rip me off?" After GS sales person feed some more BS to the man, he finally purchased the used Wii. In the end, Gamestop wins again.
This brings me back to my recent Blog about Gamestop. I really dislike thier policy. They give you pennies for you new games and resells it for 10x times. Is this really ethical? Now, they are reselling used Wii for the same price as a new system. Is this even legal? I don't see the logic behind this. I always thought that the price of a used product at Gamestop is always lower than the price of a new product. Isn't that right? I mean, Gamestop is not Ebay, nor is it Craig's list. This the reason why gamers should stop supporting Gamestop. I think I'm going to go to my neighborhood Gamestop and see if they are selling used systems for same price as a new one. Just because the system is in high demand doesn't mean they can sell it for whatever price they want. I wonder what Nintendo would say if they found out Gamestop was doing this?
