Sam's Club Saving Wii systems to Sell at a Later Date

I was reading different news and blogs and came across this.  A couple was shopping at Sam's Club and came across a Wii system in the electronics department.  I guess the guy was looking for a Wii system for a while and finally found one at Sam's Club.  It was the last one in the show case and he kindly asked the sales person if she can hold it for a half hour while they finish shopping.  The couple was happy that they finally found a Wii system and are ready to take it home.  The sales person held the Wii and once the couple finished shopping, they went back to the electronics department to pick it up.  The sales person tried to the scan the Wii and nothing was coming up.  She tried and tried again but still nothing rang up on the computer system.  She made a call to upper management and told them the situation.  It turns out that they have more than 1 system, they have 100 Wiis in stock.  But the catch was, they can't sell it.  They were saving the Wiis for a "Grand Re-Opening".   He wanted to speak to Upper management but they refuse because it was something so small so they said "If you really want one so bad then come back next week and wait in line for Sam's Club to open to get one.  The man replied that he doesn't have time because he has a regular full time job.  Don't you think that was a rude comment?  Not the man is furious but he kept his cool and thank the sales person and asked if he can get the number to call the district manager.  It turns out that there isn't one, so she gave him the head office.  The customer called and left a couple of messages of how displeased he was and that Sam's Club should have did something to compensate him.  Which I totally agree with.  At of right now, no calls were returned and the customer, I mean Ex-customer had cancelled his membership with Sam's Club.  I think Sam's Club should have sold him the one that was left on the floor.  I mean, if they really wanted to save it for the Grand Re-Opening, they should of put all 100 in the back room so this situation wouldn't have happened.  What is selling one Wii  going to do?  They would still have 99 of them and it was their fault anyway.  I really thought that the Wii are now in stock in most stores.  I guess I'm wrong.

People are still fighting for for a Wii. I was in a toy store a couple weeks ago, they announced over the PA that they had Wiis, and everybody in the store went bananas.
