Most Recent Posts Scamming SellersPosted May-02-07 07:27:51 PDT I am recently going through a rough patch here on eBay, and seeing how no one seems to be willing to help, my only option is to warn you all of things on here. I recently purchased several different items from different sellers. One has refused to ship it, or contact me, or anything. I have had to open a dispute on PayPal with this buyer, which is is also refusing to respond to. The same person has been on eBay shopping everyday and buying things, so he is not unaware of the emails that I have sent him, which now total around 12 since I purchased this item over 20 days ago. I paid him immediately, he had (won't after my feedback) a 100% positive score, and yet, outright scammed me. Secondly, I have had numerous buyers say that they ship using Priority Mail, charge over $8.00 for it, then send it first class instead, and S&H charges do not equal up at all. It also takes 3 times as long as what they originally promised in the auction. Classic bait and switch technique at work. Ebay is starting to look like it does not care about its members, not from a buyers standpoint. They are only worried about profits. My partner had attempted fraud on his PayPal account, so called PayPal to try to get it recitified, and they placed him on hold for an hour. He called back, got the run around, got hung up on, and then again, placed on hold for 45 minutes when he called again. They have ignored him, and are no help. It is no wonder people are starting up a new auction site to rival eBay, and the way things are going, I hope it surpasses it. Companies do not understand that the consumer is responsible for their existence, and without us, there is no company. No company can survive without its profits. I loved eBay, and I am watching them slowly spiral downhill and out of control, ignoring all of us in the process. GLUTTONS!Posted Apr-26-07 10:51:04 PDT Ok, so we get it. You can max out your credit card. Nice. But here is the problem with your thinking. You are actually ticking off a lot of us here on eBay who would also like to buy things. And you know who I am talking to here. Those buyers who literally go onto every auction, and put super high bids on everything, so that way, they are guaranteed to win everything that they have. The problem here is that most of these people are also the ones who are not paying. They are starting a huge conflict in the eBay community. They are making buyers upset, because we cannot get any of the stuff we want, and are monetarily hurting the sellers by not paying, and causing the seller to have to relist the item, or offer as a second chance. I can say that eBay setting up the second chance offer was a great idea, as I have received a few myself, ironically in auctions where the same person kept outbidding me on everything. So do us all a favor kiddies. Calm down, quit trying to make people miserable and then hurt others because you need an ego boost. Buy what you can afford, and share the wealth with others. Sage words in my book. What is going on with Shipping Charges on eBay?Posted Apr-26-07 09:00:12 PDT Ok, so you go through all of these different auctions, think you are getting a great deal, win an auction for a low price, and then..... SHIPPING! Yeah, shipping charges. There have been a few members on this site that are VERY shady when it comes to shipping. Take for example, I have purchased numerous Marvel Legends on eBay, and average shipping is around $4.05. So why is it that some people demand $8.00-$12.50 for the exact same item? I will tell you why, it is a cushion. They know that even if the product sells for a dollar, then they will make $5.00 off of it and have their shipping covered. It is a way to ensure they make the amount of money at minimum off an item, at your expense. I suggest that either they start setting reserves, and charge a fair amount for the shipping, or we, as eBayers, do not bid on auctions where they are using cushions on their products. This way, everything is operating above board, and fairly, without the hassle. I am sorry, but to sit here, and pay immediately after the auction ends, and someone takes 9 days to ship out your win, by Priority Mail, which is $4.05 and takes 3 days to get to you, and they charged you $9.00, then I think there is a problem there. Stand with me on this, and maybe we can have clearer lines of communication and more accurate pricing on eBay again! |
