Racism at the Miss Universe Pageant???

This year's Miss Universe pageant, held in Mexico City, had more controversy than usual associated with a beauty pageant. Consistent heckling and booing was directed at Miss USA by Mexican and other members of the audience during the entire evening. While this showed extremely bad social behavoir by these insensitive members of the audience, it also had a negative affect on Miss USA, who stumbled and fell during the evening gown portion of the competiton. This unfortunate behavoir was an attack on a young woman solely on the basis of nationality - something rarely seen at neutral world forums such as this, or such as the Olympics, for example.  What are we descending into? Thoughts? Comments? Observations?
