My first positive and first negative feedback

I had my very first positive feedback at ebay yesterday,

finally i have a number behind my name, instand of 0. I was soooooooo happy

However, i didn't even had time to celebrate it. i got my very first negative feedback right after that. And it was from my first customer. for whom i did make a special post here.  My special customer was angry because i send the painting in an envelop. My deal lord. This is how we send water color made in ricepaper in China. i didn't know that it will lead to a negative feedback. I have explained it in the item description nowadays. Rice paper can be fold before framing, it will not affect the quality of the painting at all.

I realise that not everyone know that ricepaper can be folded , so i did packing my painting in a tupe. but the post officer made me change it into an envelope, due to the safety reason during the Olympic games.  

Anyway. it's too late to say anything. My positive feedback score is only 50% now . what a nice start.    this is deep s**t,

    how i am going to get any trust afterwards? 

Is there anyway i can fix this ?

  My feedback score came back to 0 again. :(   and positive feedback is 50%  :(

Is it reasonable to have a chance to explain and try to solve the problem before getting a negative feedback ?

I am really disappointed in my first customer. we did have good communication and i really appreciate it. i had no idea it will end up this ugly .  

have you had this kind of experience before ?

Remember, you can never communicate enough! Send messages through ebay and make sure your descriptions are very accurate and easy to understand.

Yes, I have. The first thing to do is to step back and take a deep breath and remember that this is not personal. Then remember that buyers can often understand the system of feedback differently from other buyers or sellers. So they think that if a problem is solved they should still put bad if they experienced the problem in the first place... In my opinion that is not fair but there are no true guidelines. You have started selling at a very difficult time in eBay. Do not be disheartened. Just keep going... you will have some lovely buyers, I'm sure... that will really brighten your day. Good luck...
