It has been a year from when we opened our store and interestingly we are starting to see traffic pick-up.  I have found though there are some items which sell better as auctions then as store items.  Have found this out too? One of the tricks I am beginning to do is prior to listing I find the item in Ebay under Completed and see how the item was sold - either Buy it Now or Auction - and that helps determine.  In addition, we have found that electronics, phones, certain collectibles really do better as auctioned items.  Books we have found sell better in the store. 

I would love to know how others determine how to sell their items.  I have setup more keywords and have added our store to my signature to help drive business.

Happy Summer!!!!  It is going to be a hot one down here on Lake Travis, Austin, Texas!!!  With the rain we are green this year and the wild flowers are still blooming.

    Fall has finally arrived here on Lake Travis in Austin Texas.  The weather is a nice 50 degrees, the air is clear and crisp.  We are starting to get ourselves ready for the holiday season - viewing and finding items which will make wonderful holiday gifts.  We have so far found Teddy Bear, Books on Tapes, Games, Cell Phones, and some really unique stuff as well.  

This wonderful clean air and cool breeze just gives us a new energy.

Now that it is almost been a month since EbayLive I am still going strong on wanting to start our own business and to get out of the corporate world!!!! 

If we could only get organized, and find storage to place all our items.  I keep thinking of the day when I will be able to do this full-time 100%.  We have many people here in Austin interested in us placing their items up for bid.

I am still learning more about how to promote our Store.  Does anyone out there know if buying keywords really worth the money?

 

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July Holiday.  Although we had off from our day jobs, we were actually checking out our auctions on Ebay, not too bad! 

This week I am going to actually do my first Buy It Now or Best Offer option - I have a beautiful diamond anniversary ring that I will be listing in our store.  Wondering if anyone has done the Best Offer and how successful it was to use?

 

 

This is day two to J&L Lake Travis Ebay Blog.  I am in the process of setting up an Ebay Store, and after a day of working at my day job having to deal with all the whirling around there, now I am trying to delve into understanding all the whats and heres and theres of setting up a Store.....whew...well it is all for a good cause....help us to begin working for ourselves instead of the man!

I am also looking to see about auctioning off a book to donate the proceeds to a charity, never have done this before. As an individual I always look for ways to give back to the community.
