You Just Can't Please Everyone!

You can try and try and try to please someone to the best of your ability and still, it just won't happen. Some people are so anal when it comes to buying on Ebay (especially the buyers who sell also.) Buying on Ebay can really be a risk if you don't take the right step, but you can't blame anyone but yourself if the risk turns out bad! For example, asking questions takes a lot of the risk out of buying on Ebay. An another, choosing the right shipping. People people, if you don't buy insurance you take a risk. When I buy something on Ebay, if I don't buy insurance, I realize that the item can come damaged or possibly not come at all for that matter! But that is a choice I need to make and I need to weigh the options. It is my ~! OWN !~ fault if I don't purchase insurance and an item comes damaged!!! I would take responsibility for my own actions and not blame the seller that's for sure! Take responsibility buyers!!!

And remember, after 911 the post offices take special precauctions on packages with liquids etc. If a box comes into the post office that has leaked something, the post office opens the box and checks it out and on some occassions will not pass it in inspection to be delivered. GO TO YOUR POST OFFICE AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF ABOUT DAMAGED BOXES WITH LIQUIDS OR POWDERS, YOU'LL FIND OUT!  Now if you by chance received a damaged box with liquids in it that the post office let pass, you need to take a picture of the box and item to prove to your seller that it truly was broken and they just may give you a refund EVEN THOUGH YOU DID NOT PURCHASE INSURANCE. But don't tell the seller that you will send a picture and never send it. Many Ebayers will lie about a product being damaged or not received and the seller will either refund the money or somehow "make it right" and then the buyer will resell their completely fine product. Those ones sure do make out well don't they? They take advantage of the ones who really try to be good sellers when it comes to business.

I had an ebuyer buy a box lot from me and when she received it, she said that everything was ruined because a bottle of perfume had broken. She said that I sent her broken stuff and a "dirty boy." First of all, the "dirty boy" was not dirty. He is actually a vintage christmas carol boy that may be worth something (not for sure) and second, if the perfume had broken and leaked, the post office would have opened the box to inspect it. I talked to the post office about this and there are strict restrictions now about liquids and questionable powders etc since 911.

Even though she did not purchase insurance, I wanted to make things right with her if in fact she was telling the truth. OH, and by the way, I put many extra gifts in her box because she bid decent. Anyway, I explained to her about the post office and asked if she could send me a picture. She said she would send a picture in the morning but never did. She left me positive feedback a few days later though.

Because I do not like anyone to be unhappy and there was a tiny slight chance that she could be telling the truth about the perfume, I decided to send her a new box of stuff. I noticed that she sells on Ebay also, so I sent her a Priority Flat Rate box full of stuff. There were tons of bottles of nail polish (almost all practically full) and other stuff including brand new things.

I couldn't believe it when I received a message from her saying this "Hi I don't know whats going on but why did you send me a box of junk.. Stuff with kids name on it.. half used nail polish I honestly don't get it.. This is just not proper to send out to customers its a good way to lose them.. Please explain.. thanks lisa"

WOW, I tried to please someone and look what I get!! This lady I cannot please! I don't think I will ever do that again. From now on, if someone doesn't buy insurance and something breaks or if someone lies about an item being broke just to get their money back or something else, I will say too bad-and hope I don't get a negative feedback. Something similar happened like this and the guy gave me my one negative feedback! I am postitive the guy was lying because it is awefully hard to break a BRASS unicorn that is wrapped in bubble wrap and newspaper and put in a box!!

MOVING MOVING MOVING!

We plan to move as soon as my step-son graduates (this year) and I am slowing going through all my stuff. There are things I hate to just throw away so I have tried a few box lots. It is not working out too well, but I guess I should just keep trying. I will probably put a lot of the stuff in as gifts also. I need to get rid of a lot of things, so I will be putting a bunch up here and there to sell soon. I don't want to get rich off the stuff, I just want to get rid of it without losing any money. If I make a profit of 50 cents after insertion fees, final value fees and paypal fees-good. I just don't want to throw it away.

I have given tons and tons of things as donations to resale shops but the shops around here are so swamped with stuff, they just throw things out unless it is in perfect condition. Unfortunately, I will not donate to Goodwill anymore or St. Vincent DePaul because they put WAAAY to high of prices on things that are all donated. My grandmother volunteered at SVDP for many many years (enough to get a full page in the Detroit newspaper) and I went to one the other day to look for a sundress. I thought the price was ridiculous for donated clothes and volunteered employees! I left empty handed due to the prices.

I have found a good outlet though for things that I just can't sell online. We have many many Amish around us and they are wonderful! The Amish do not throw anything away; they find a use for just about anything! Ripped & stained clothes are used to make rugs or used for rags. And anything else is used for parts to make other things. I brought a vanload of boxes to a local Amish family one day and the kids were having a ball going through the boxes! I went back another day to give them more stuff I was getting rid of and the man of the house said that everything was used and divided up between the local Amish families. I thought it was great because I am one that hates to throw things out also-for the simple fact of killing our earth! I try to recycle everything in some way or another!

So, up on ebay and then out to the Amish if it goes if unsold!
