Goodwill Salvation Army St Vincent DePaul HAHAHA

I'm sorry to sound so rude about this but I won't donate to them anymore. I've posted about this before.

I know they help people out but at the same time they push people away. What do I mean by this? Well, all items are donated (this means free) and I'm not sure about Goodwill but I do know St. Vincent DePaul is all volunteers. My grandmother volunteered for over 20 years working 20-40 hours a week there. They are putting such high prices on their stuff that product doesn't move (at least around here in Michigan) and then they start throwing perfectly good stuff away because they don't have room.

Families who cannot afford brand new clothes are having a hard time affording Goodwill clothes too!

I donate a lot of my stuff to the Amish around here because I KNOW they use everything they can. They find a use for just about everything! They recycle, reuse, share, trade but don't throw away like Goodwill does. I'll ask at my church also.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

Watchers and Reduced, Still No Sale!

I have had these darn ice skates listed for about a year now and the darn things won't sell. I have listed them in an auction a few times and have listed them in my store. I have had watchers on them for the longest time and I have reduced the price a few times.

And yet still, I think they will sit there once again! Darn it :(

I Was Wrong

In one of my entries in an earlier week, I posted about not getting paid for training or "orientation." I was wrong. I assumed I wasn't getting paid because they never had us punch in and the manager said something about not getting us on payroll until later etc. etc. I found out today that we are getting paid and that the manager punched us in on the first orientation day. I am so glad! I thought I spend 6 hours (plus 6 hours driving time) working for someone for free.

I assumed and you know what assuming means???................................

Now I just need to find out if I will get paid for the other job that I went into for "orientation."

Hey All ! Thanks for last night :)

I want to thank all of you who posted last night to let me know about that listings rule. You know who you are. lol

It is so hard to keep up with what rules are what and sometimes to really understand them in the first place.

Thanks everyone who was looking out for me. A big smile and hug goes out to you!

SALE! Get a refund! Holiday Time Sale!

I'm having a sale!

When you buy from me, you can receive a refund!

Buy any item and receive a 50 cent refund.

All you have to do is buy the item and type in a code!

If you are paying by paypal, just type in the note box sevassusej. If you are paying by mail, write that code on the money order or on a piece of paper.

If you paid with paypal, I will send you the money through the account that you paid with. If you paid by mail, I will send the money through mail to you.

YOU MUST TYPE THE CODE IN TO RECEIVE YOUR REFUND! This sale will last until December 25, 2006!

*Fine print* If you are buying more than one item, you will receive a .25 cent refund on items after the first due to a savings on combined shipping. This means that if you buy three items from me, you will receive a refund of $1.00 not $1.50.

Pros and cons of different shipping methods

After reading the comments on my last entry in my blog, I realized that there are people with pros for Priority.

I myself like selling items where people choose the Priority and also like buying items and getting them shipped Priority. But in some instances, it could be better to ship it a different way. I think that usually the only time there is a big differece in price is when you have a very light item that can be shipped First-Class or Media mail and then when you start getting real heavy items, Priority starts getting expensive.

So, at times it is a lot cheaper to send it First-Class (that is... if you can) and give some people a chance to buy it that are less fortunate than others. But other times, there's only a ten cent difference between Parcel and Priority, so why not spend the ten cents on better service?

What do the rest of you think? Pros and Cons of various shipping methods?

Some are slower than others.... ^~^

Yeah, and that would be me!   Duh!

I just had an epiphany! The shipping method I put up first will be the one shown in the search results listing. That is if I offer more than one method, say Priority and Parcel. Well if I put Priority first, it may deter some potential buyers beceause what they see in the search results is a high price for shipping.

Yeah, duh, I know I know.  Now I have to go and revise all my listing and put parcel first and priority second so potential buyers see the lowest price shipping amount, not the highest.

Hey, I never said I was wasn't dumb--I just said I wasn't stupid! LOL snicker snicker :)

Well I Better List At Least One Thing Tonight

I've been sitting here reading the interesting blogs and have not put one thing up yet!

My son wants me to put his games up so I'll do that and probably go to bed.

Boy, I got a lot accomplished today. LOL LOL

Maybe tomorrow will be better ???

I Don't Want To Go To Bed...

But I have to :(

I'm not tired and I want to feed my addiction (blogging lol) but I have to get up in about 2 hours to make my hubby's lunch.

So, goodnight.

It's Addicting! Help!

I could be listing my many boxes of ebay stuff all piled around me (lol) but instead I'm sitting here reading and writing blogs!

I could be sleeping right now but instead I'm sitting here reading and writing blogs!

I could be doing laundry or cleaning right now but instead I'm sitting here reading and writing blogs!

Someone help! What's the cure for ebay blog addiction? Is there anything to help the urge to press the refresh button over and over again when a new blog has not showed up yet on the main blog page? Ahhhhhhh!

LOL

Training V. Orientation???? Paid V. Unpaid????

So, when did training become orientation? This means paid v. unpaid!

Don't get me wrong; I'm glad I have a job, especially being in Michigan. I just don't understand what ever happened to getting paid for going in to work for 3 hours and having to listen to policies, procedures, etc. etc. and having to learn how to do your job. Instead of calling it "training" and getting paid for it, they now call it "orientation" and you don't get paid.

The one place that I went in to for an hour is not paying me and the other that I went in to for 3 hours is not paying me! I listened to procedures and gave my personal information (which I already gave in my application) at both places and at one I had to watch boring videos on everything from theft to how to stock an item! I think the only real good information I got from it was about CODE ADAM which is an organization that helps missing children and prevention.

My son's friend went into work for almost a full week and wasn't getting paid for it. When he asked when he would start getting paid, they said that he needed a few more days of training. He said see ya. I don't blame him!

What's happening? Employers have no values anymore?

I Got A Job!

Well actually two jobs.  They are both temporary for the holiday season but that is okay. I received a call back from Bath & Body Works and also Hollister. I do have to buy some new clothes now though because I don't have a lot of "Hollister Type" clothes-that's what they want you to wear. I'm 33 and am not a skinny minny so I really don't fit into a lot of that stuff. I do have a few things but tonight was Ebaying for Hollister!

I hope both jobs work out well. I haven't worked in 4 years. I started working when I was about 12 or 13 in a family business and then off to a "regular" job as soon as I was old enough and worked until 4 years ago. Unfortunately it was always the food & drink business. I see my new jobs as a learning experience since I really don't have skill in mall sales. LOL  I'm hoping that with my strong work ethics and my 3.8 GPA brain, I'll do alright! Who knows though- a 33 year old working at Hollister??? Anybody ever hear of it? LOL

Well, wish me luck! I'm hoping my kids will do okay with it. Mommy has spoiled them with love and attention the last 4 years. Yeah, that includes my hubby too-oh what will he do without me? Hee Hee

Can someone help me with blog please?

Where you customize your style sheet, it shows "Advanced." How do I make my own style sheet? Is it fairly easy?
