Steelblue skies, snow gently falling, furnace running keeping us warm from the elements of this wintery day, I sip on my coffee and watch two deer causiously walk across my front yard. Hope you have a day filled with His peace. d Wintry Wintry DayPosted Feb-11-08 12:51:15 PST Hi Everyone, I woke up this morning to a long list of school closings, 8 to 10 inches of snow in the driveway to be shoveled (more where it drifted) and the weatherman for our area saying, "Only five more weeks of winter folks!". I tell you, I did not want to leave the comfort of my warm bed. But I did. Got my husband off to work, did the morning chores, and the kids and I had the shoveling done by 10:30 a.m. Now it's housework and ebay. Not many sales this weekend but we've come to view any sale as a good sale. Isn't it funny how something can sit in your store and go unnoticed for months and then 'bam', it not only sells, but sells out?. That just happened with a couple of pine cone clocks we've had. All the sudden both are gone. We've had pine cone candles go in spurts too. When we first put them out, they sold pretty well, so we bought more. Then they sat for probably three months, then we went through two weeks where people seemed to be buying them left and right. Now all is quite again on the candle front. Maybe in another month or two. . .Have a good afternoon everyone. k The wake after the storm..Posted Feb-11-08 12:47:05 PST Today the gray skies of Northern Michigan have changed to sunny blue in the wake of a blizzard that howled outside our doors for the past 36 hours. We lost power for about 4 hours so we put a log on the fire in the fireplace and huddled around it to stay warm. Actually it was quite nice. Today's busy life with so much technology around us tends to fill our hours without much conversation with our loved ones. Sometimes it takes an act of God to bring us to a huddle around a warm fire to share our dreams with one another and appreciate the blessings we take for granted. Wishing all of you the same peace this sunny day. d Saturday MorningPosted Feb-09-08 07:55:09 PST Good Morning Everyone, My husband just left to go to a funeral of a friend that he used to work with. Please say a little prayer for that family. It was sudden, no time to say good bye. The gray winter sky here in Michigan looks just heartbreaking when you know people are suffering a loss. . . I'll try to perk it up a little . . .what a lazy morning. It's going on 11 a.m. and I'm still sipping my coffee in my pjs. Checked out the store and it's a slow ebay morning too. Not too thrilled about that. Oh well. Our day will take on some life soon. The kids have a sliding party they're going to and I have a house to clean, laundry to do and the couch looks like it's inviting me over. Have a good weekend everyone. Hope you sell lots of stuff. We keep our computers off on Sunday which is one of the best business decisions we've made.
