Desert runs, good for the soul!Posted Jan-05-08 08:00:17 PST Updated Jan-05-08 08:01:58 PST After meeting at 8:30am we hit the desert yesterday with about 20 other rigs. Everyone headed out to mile marker 31, turned right into the desert and worked our way along to Crazy Horse Canyon. A beautiful drive over a mix of desert terrain. We got to see a bit of everything, moggles, sand, rocky stuff and hard packed dirt. Part of the run took us along the Baja 1000 race course... that part was VERY Rough! Our 79 Jeep CJ5 handled everything the run threw at us easily. The wierdest thing on the run was a 4 wheel drive VW Vanagon. Not much ground clearance but he was carefull and made it there and back no problem. Great relaxing day with the wife and mother nature. Great way to destress too. The run was hosted by the SFARP San Felipe association of retired persons. They do two runs a month. Allways something fun going on with these spunky people. If your ever down here in San Felipe come and check them out! Well we are off to do some watering jobs, practice at the church then a walk on the beach. You all have an awesome saturday okay! Adios mis amigos. Ken. Blessins on ya!
