Looking for an enjoyable and rewarding industrial music marketing internship to gain some experience? The BJ Stokes Bronzeville Campaign is seeking individuals who are energetic, determined, and has a passion for the music business! Responsibilities include: • Assist with coordination of projects related to industrial music market research, ad development, and daily administrative duties to assist the Swingsation, BJ Stokes Global Draft Tour. • Assist with special events Applicants must attend college. These internships will not offer college credit. However; these internships will be compensated. The audience was anxiously waiting to see the hottest talent Chicago had to offer on this spring night, Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Harold Washington Cultural Center in Chicago, Illinois.
None other than Grammy award winning Donald Lawrence graced the stage to welcome everyone and announce what the evening had to offer; he had the strongest line-up of talent since the event was established three years prior.
To set the pace for the evening, Grammy award winning Donald Lawrence strategically started the evening with the smooth sound and illustrious singing sensation BJ Stokes who performed “The Nearness of You” by Ned Jones and Hoagy Carmichael accompanied by a great gal pal
The two magically embraced each other as they intimately sang the beautiful words composed decades prior to their own births. Notwithstanding their incredible talent to perform vocals from such an era of music set in the 1930’s, these two had the audience standing on their feet in mere amazement applauding their sensational abilities.
BJ Stokes set the stage for others to take the evening to a new standard of accomplishment.
As if the standing ovation at the end of the song wasn’t enough, BJ Stokes receives a phone call after the event concluded. What an awe inspiring moment to take a call from the most noted entertainment lawyer in Chicago, Daryl Jones.
