Life on the prairie

Seller overcharging for shipping.

I recently won a doll and the listed shipping charge was 15.00 for Priority Mail. 3 days after I paid for it I got an e-mail saying the seller went on vacation and would not mail the doll for two weeks! I sent one back that was quite nice but pointed out that the listing offered and charged me for Priority but recieved absolutely nothing back. Thinking perhaps the vacation was some type of emergency I patiently waited over two weeks for the doll. I sent another very nice e-mail at the end of two weeks and I got one back that just said the doll shipped and gave the delivery confirmation number. Nothing about the 15.00 for Priority that I paid or even so much as a "gee, sorry you had to wait so long". Bottom line is, I didn't expect or even want money back", just a simple "thanks for waiting" would have been nice!  I believe good customers are like gold, precious and valuable....literally! It is not unreasonable to expect a courtesy e-mail at the very least to thank me for my business and patience. I've learned alot from being a buyer on how to be a good seller. If I make a mistake in shipping charges or there is a delay in shipping, the customer will recieve a refund on the difference in the case of an error and free shipping if it is delayed in being shipped. The cool thing is I make good money and keep happy customers because of my policies and courteous e-mails.......now if only I could have been treated that way by the seller who sold me the doll I would've put her on my favorites list and checked back from time to time as I do with several of my favorite sellers. In the end...I never even got good feedback for paying 170.00 promptly! Grrrr!

Okay, I feel better now! Venting is a good thing as Martha would say! LOL

Personally, if the 'vacation' wasn't mentioned in the listing, I would have insisted on getting my shipping cost back.

That was bad, very bad. The seller should have put it in their listing that they would be going on vacation, and let you make that call if you wanted to wait 2 weeks before it was shipped out. What if you were buying for a gift that you needed right away? Very, very poor business practice! They could have had the doll packed, ready to send and appoint someone to mail it for them. People arrange all kinds of things when they leave for vacation. This isn't rocket science! I would definitely let them know how unhappy you are.

yes because priority is a 2-3 day delivery...I would inquire about that.

That was just wrong! If the seller had an emergency they could have at least told you and communicated! When a buyer pays me for priority shipping I get it out the same day and they get it in 2-3 days. If they pay for it, that's what they should get!

And just ignore dinners, he's just a grumpy mean little man

Oh dinners....shut up. This person paid immediately, priority shipping and then heard from the seller it wouldn't be sent out for 2 weeks! What about that do you not understand? Another reason bloggers wouldn't buy from you.
