http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160033102004 Thanks for looking in on me! ~ Kim Ever been wrong for over a year?Posted Sep-15-06 22:16:47 PDT Updated Oct-07-06 15:56:13 PDT Last year when my husband and I went out for our wedding anniversary, he was convinced that it was our 20th anniversary and was very sorry that he wasn't in a position to get me a new wedding ring as he'd promised years before. I had done the math earlier that day to see how many years we'd been married so despite the fact that I didn't want him to KNOW that I had had to figure it out (instead of just remembering ), I assured him that it was only our 19th anniversary - I admitted that I had done the math so he could rest assured that he had a whole other year to replace the wedding ring that we lost years ago when we were struggling financially (We pawned it twice for grocery $ and never got it back the 2nd time).
Speed ahead to this year's anniversary - our 20th!... =o) We were both fretting over what to get each other - me because I just had NO ideas and him because he still didn't feel he had enough to get the ring - SO we agreed - NO gifts - and we planned a nice dinner out instead. We had a lovely dinner and as we returned to the car, we were talking about how 20 years is no small feat - especially considering all we've weathered together. Now back inside the car, as I turned back to him from buckling my seatbelt, he was holding a ring box & sporting a huge smile because he knew he had completely fooled me - which rarely happens. I opened the box and it had the most beautiful yet simple white gold wedding set inside. I was doubly touched as I had let him completely off the hook from buying ANY gift and he chose to surprise me with the ring he'd promised anyway. A perfectly sweet anniversary celebration.
Well... a few days later, we were sitting on the sofa - I thought we were both watching tv, and then he turned to me and said, "What year were we married?"... Without a second's hesitation, I said, "1985"... He said, "Are you sure?", I said, "Yes... graduated in '84, married in '85, and new parents in '86". His eyes got wide and he said, "I KNEW it!!"... 2005 WAS our 20th anniversary! I was stunned - I had done the math - I just did a really lousy job of it! LOL So... We've been married for twenty-ONE years and I seriously doubt he won't remind me of my huge mistake on all future anniversaries... but in fairness to me... It took HIM 12 months to figure out my mistake! =oP Mermaid Pumpkin Magic & 3 New Dog BreedsPosted Sep-15-06 22:02:38 PDT Yesterday I had to put on a sweater for most of the day and huddled beneath a blanket while sitting on the sofa last night. Then today I awoke to a cold gray day and I finally had to admit that it was time to accept the fact that Fall is fast approaching and it is again time to succumb to the Mermaid's Great Pumpkin temptation (i.e., go to Starbucks and get my favorite fall coffee - a hot pumpkin spice latte). Between responding to emails, trying yet again to organize my workspace, and mental debates on whether or not I really needed the 2nd cup of coffee that I couldn't stop thinking about, I managed to make progress on some custom art orders... The following picture features 3 breeds - all created as part of a logo project I'm currently working on:
A red Pomeranian, long-haired Dachshund, and a Chinese Crested. I have so many project ideas - more pocket planner art, desk planners, travel art mugs, journals, (and a lot more!) but never enough time to get to it all... If anyone ever happens to see extra time being auctioned off on ebay, please let me know! If you love dogs, check out my auctions... I've got several ending in the next couple days; greyhounds, a whippet, a samoyed, and even my first ever Bedlington Terrier and a Kuvasz)! And of course, there are always Westies. Thanks for looking in on me! The STARTING Bid DOES still show in Auctions!Posted Sep-11-06 20:21:09 PDT It's come to my attention that some ebayers believe eBay removed the ability to view the starting bid amount when shopping... Good news to these people... It's still there! The starting bid info IS still viewable (it just has a show/hide option now)... It's located just below the top photo, price and watch option. If you're NOT seeing the starting bid info, then look for this text "Listing and payment details: Show" and click your mouse on the word "Show" to expose the starting price, etc. Hope this is helpful info to ebay shoppers! ~ Kim Sunday Furries (Greyhounds, Bedlington, Kuvasz, etc) ArtPosted Sep-10-06 16:52:40 PDT Updated Sep-11-06 20:01:03 PDT Sunday's always seem to be the day when I can do a group of new works - probably because it's technically my "day off" but one of the things I enjoy doing on my day off is doodling... So... here's the newest Mini Kini art for my ebay auctions: All are my standard Mini Kini 3x3" size originals, I just got John Mayer's Continuum cd and can hardly wait for tomorrow to listen while I work =o) Thanks for looking in on me! |
