Most Recent Posts Rain rain go away, come again another day!Posted Oct-06-06 10:20:36 PDT I can't say I hate rain and I knew the rainy season would start
eventually, but I have enjoyed the sun while we still have it. It seems
darker every day when I wake up at 7am and is getting darker a few
minutes earlier with each passing day. Dark and rainy, I still see the
bright side......it could always be worse. Rain is nothing compared to
what people in other parts of the country must put up with (hurricanes,
tornadoes, earthquakes, etc.). So I used to walk 4-5 miles every evening at 6:30 when I husband got home from work, I would be home before dark. Those days will soon be gone, I may have to try a gym membership. Although, the scenery isn't as pretty as a walk in the woods, I wouldn't mind using a trial membership just to see how it is. Or I could save the money and do Tae-Bo at home. That is how I lost 3 pant sizes in the beginning - by kicking and punching my way to a healthier self. Choices choices choices! I think I'll rent "Singing in the Rain" and celebrate the start of the inevitable Seattle weather! Does anyone else love hiking/walking as much as I do?Posted Sep-24-06 20:06:34 PDT I'm addicted. I love hiking and walking. I've been walking an average of 4 miles every day since it started to get warm in the spring. There's a park nearby which is more like a forest. One lap around the lake (and paved trail) is 1 mile. However, I find it boring to do the same ole path every day. I started to explore the other trails and found 2 other bridges (long and narrow old bridges) that run through a swampy area with lots of trees. I also found a couple of trails through the trees which don't end up in swamp so it's safe to walk. Blackberries grow like crazy around this area of Washington and sometimes I will stop to graze, I can't help myself. They will rot on the vine because hardly anyone walks off the paved area of the park. The only drawback - I have to carry pepper spray. I've heard rumors and I've seen some interesting people lurking the area. I've never had trouble with them, especially since the pepper spray is velcroed to my hand and is visible. I did get quite a scare today, though. I was out for an early morning walk and a dog (leashed) was out in the woods with the owner. It must not have liked me because it lunged forward and barked like it wanted to rip my throat out. I was ready to use the pepper spray if I needed to, fortunately the owner had a good handle on the dog. I'm going to miss walking when the daylight shortens. Back to Tae-Bo, I guess........ Blog....something you yell when you stub your toe?Posted Sep-15-06 09:16:09 PDT I've always thought "blog" was such an odd word. I imagine myself yelling something like it when I stub my toe on the leg of a chair.
I don't sell on Ebay like I used to. Maybe it's the fees or I've just fizzled. I find things to sell once in a while. Right now, I sell things I get from celebrities for charity. I am helping Bully Police USA (www.bullypolice.org) to raise money for their cause. I also sell an e-book which I wrote, it took soooooo long to learn about this subject. I figured others could use a shortcut so I wrote about the subject. It turns out, I was right.
With the money I've earned from selling my e-book, I can buy the little things I need now. I can run to a store and use my paypal debit card and earn 1.5% cash back on every purchase. It is nice to not have to wait until pay day. Recently, I bought a fun looking pre-school set on www.teachmemommy.com for my kids. I have 2 children (1 is in kindergarten, the other is at home with me). I also watch up to 4 additional children off and on like a daycare - only it is unofficial so I'm not regulated by the state - or wearing a tight leash in other words. I have a friend who got licensed, boy was it the biggest headache! |
