Special Bonsai Tips week of December 16th 2007

Special Tips:

1. I fertalize with a very weak solution of water based fertilizer once a month.

2. NEVER let the soil completly dry out! always keep it moist but not soaked all the time.

3. The tree I sent you loves sunlight! Keep in as much natural sunlight as possible! if youhave a really sunny window or outside. If you must keep inside, you can buy a full light spectrum bulb at any pet store and put your tree under that light all the time. (A regular light bulb will not work! must be a full spectrum bulb) usually in the reptile section of the store.

4. Trim your tree as needed to keep its basic shape. Watch for new growth. Will mean your tree is doing great :-)

5. At some point you may need to repot your tree. place a small bit of sand in the bottom of the new pot and then pick a rich top soil. and then make sure you keep the tree very wet for 7 days while it is getting use to the new pot.

6. Never let your tree stay out in the cold! Since the tree is in a pot it hasd very little protection from the elements. Same goes for the sun. You want it to get alot of sunlight but if its real hot in your area place your tree in the morning sun and in the shade during the hot parts of the day

7. if you find bugs on your tree, make sure you pick a pesticide that will not kill junipers..You have to be very careful..many due kill junipers.
