please share your thoughts on the debate last night!

i thought that Barack Obama was thoughtful and delivered a strong message of a real possibilty to finally tackle the issues that have been a part of the national dialogue for going on 30 years now. i thought he shared clear ideas of how he will address these big issues; issues that most Americans are tremendously concerned about in their day to day lives.

i have a deep respect for John McCain as a war hero and politician, but i didn't hear him really pose any substantive ideas of how he will change the course we are on.

i would love to hear your thoughts!

it's being called a trend of the moment, but i think the "bootie" can easily be considered a staple. it works perfectly with the right skirt, the right dress, and the right jeans. i think it sings when paired with a pencil skirt and dramatic blouse or go casual with skinny jeans (or rolled) and a skinny cardigan. i found these babies at piperlime. the first is a moschino which retails @ $485 and the second is a line called one of two which can be had for $180. obviously, it's a good idea to always check eBay for similar styles and you'll most likely find a better shoe for a better price.

so, who "won" the debate last night? my only thought is that the questions were hardly challenging to either candidate,  most of them seemed safe. i did think they both had strong arguments for their side. thoughts?
 

i recently "discovered" Alex Gross in a funky Asian import shop here in Portland and was instantly intrigued. his work has an Edgar Allen Poe Gothic vibe that is both playful and haunting. note the LV bag the woman in the first work carries in the first work and the ice cream cone in the second.

I'm not sure why or where it came from but all of the sudden I can't get enough of Japanese street fashion! it's so over the top, so cartoon-ish, and still so goooood! I must get to Tokyo!

one of my style idols, Gwen Stefani, has been heavily influenced by what she's seen on the streets of Tokyo in her own line and the L.A.M.B. line is one my favorites. I think New York is probably the most stylish city I've been to in the States, but in terms of daring looks Tokyo seems to come out on top.
