Well, it's been a while, but I'm finally back on eBay, and it feels great!  I'm waiting for hubby and son to wake up so I can get my shower without waking them, and get off to my real job (I work for an exclusive interior designer).  Pete the Dog is keeping me company.

Our son Ben is about to finish his junior year in high school.  The college search has begun -- ugh!  More on that later...

What a fabulous, cool, breezy morning here in Charleston!  Yes, I'll be inside in my "cave" of an office all day today, but I will rejoice in the trip over our spectacular Ravenel bridge and back this afternoon.  Here's a pic of the bridge - it's got a pedestrian walkway 3 miles long! 

They've been up all week -- they go to a very lucky someone tomorrow!  Please take a peak -- the boys room is next!

Will they beat Va Tech?  You bet!

Am I glad I'm at home watching instead of there in that crowd?  You bet!

Well, we've already had quite a day, complete with two fire trucks, lights and sirens blazing, arriving at our house at 8am!  Fortunately, it ended well, but it was loud way to start the day... The neighbors who came out were all quite nice, but I wonder how many of them still like us, once they found out it was my fault, for microwaving my 2 teabags for 4 minutes, but forgetting to put the water in the cup!!!

I started the microwave, then went into the "eBay room" to piddle around.  My husband came running in a few minutes later, yelling that something was burning.  We could smell it strongly, but could not see any.  We suspected the water heater, since we have recently received sudden scaldings in the shower.  We are clueless regarding mechanical things, and I was terrified the water heater was about to explode any minute.  So we got the 17-year-old out of bed, grabbed the dog, called 911 and waited across the street.

How embarrassing to find out what I had done!  I'm going to have to make cookies for the neighbors, for getting them up early on a Saturday morning.  Thanks be to God it was only the teabags.  We had to throw away the mug, and we are scared to use the microwave again, as it looks pretty scorched, and smells terrible.  My son wants me to try to sell it on eBay (with full disclosure of course!)

As we waited those looonnnnnggg minutes for the fire fighters to arrive, one of my fears was about all the beautiful Southern Living Idea House things in the eBay room, going up in flames!  What would I tell the folks that have already bid?  Fortunately the eBay room is a separate part of our house -- it was designed to be a mother-in-law suite and we have to go to outside on our deck to get to it, so smoke damage is not at all an issue! 

The master bedroom items will sell Monday night.  Today I'm going to focus on getting the girl's room up for auction.   I hope you'll be interested to see the beautiful, custom designed bedding and pillow items from the 2006 Charleston Southern Living Idea House, and will come back again as I put the other rooms up!

Here's a sneak peak at the coverlet, one of the shams and one of the pillows that will be going up for auction this Friday!  What do you think? Can you tell the coverlet is chocolate brown?  (I have a pretty old monitor, so I don't trust its colors)  The fuschia and grey look almost true to color, but I just can't fix that brown!

This room was designed for the Southern Living Idea House with a sophisticated teen in mind, but I think it would make lovely guest room bedding, as well as a master!
