On February 15,2007 I was shot by a Sniper while investigating a possible roadside bomb. I was in an open field looking for suspicious wire when I was shot. The single bullet from a high power rifle at such a close range went through me like a hot knife through butter. The bullet entered my left thigh, exited my left buttocks, re-entered my right buttocks and then exiting my right buttocks aswell. In the process severing my Sciatic nerve and leaving permanent nerve damage. Upon my evacuation my family did not have the available funds to fly out to where I was to be with me during my immediate recovery. The Wounded Warrior Project paid for my families travel expenses allowing my family to be with me. While I was still in the hospital, I was informed that The Wounded Warrior Project would be paying for my flight back home to be close to family during the second phase of my recovery. This orginization has done this for many famalies and service members alike. All of my military related items that are sold in my store all have a portion of the proceeds going to this great orginization to help make it possible for fellow injured comrades to have the same resources that I had when I was injured. |
