It's been tough since our Kitty passed, and since it was around the end of the new year - it was the perfect time to stop the weekly cat paintings on Ebay.  Since, more than 3/4 of all that I painted and posted are sold! The rest I will save for a pet show I will be participating in at the end of October.  I have not had time to start the creation of the new series that I wanted to (yet) Dogs and the Catalina series, as well as the female figure series (which I actually have started) because the commissions have been coming steadily. Between Cat, Car and Dog Portraits I have had work since last fall.  I have also gone back to work full time which is a crunch on my time to paint (but necessary.) 

I have been active on Ebay since the cat series ended but only in selling of note cards (sometimes they sell, sometimes not.)  I am featuring three right now, the new 2008 Car Cards (featuring 6 images of my personal favorites) - the Red Hat Note Cards, these are a 2007 product but it is still selling - and a discontinued older Car Card which is deeply discounted.

I also have decided to try to post another painting on the site with no reserve.  It is a Pink Nash and one of my favorites.  It should be up later today and I will hopfully blog about it.

As you may realize, I have been posting Cat Paintings 1 per week since July of last year.  At the start of 2008, I am switching my focus and will still continue to have Cats in the rotation but will be posting other subject matter as well.

I call this guy, Pink Cigar, due to the obvious color of this Havana Brown (wink) Cat.

It’s 2008 and I am creating a new creative plan for this year.  One new focus will be a series of Doggy Mug Shots (full faced.)  It will be  similar project to what I worked on last year with the cat series.  I will also promote Pet Portraits (not just the mug, but the whole body) - as seen in this recent commission.  I will continue to paint cats into the rotation, but this will no longer be my sole focus as it as been since summer 2007. 

I am also excited to introduce a Catalina series, as I have spent some time there this year and hope to capture on canvas what I saw in person. 

 I have also changed the look of the blog, introducing my vintage car series (commissions there are well) - with “Bab’s” being featured as my page header.  Bab’s is a 58 Vette.

I'm going to be working on changing my blog a bit over the next few weeks to reflect my art goals for 2008.  In doing so, I am going to only be blogging when I post something new on Ebay (weekly at minimum) or when I have something really special to share.  I have choosen Wordpress for my Daily Blog because I can really promote both my Ebay and Website business there - as well as the spam problems I have been having with this Blog.  I have new art coming up tomorrow - and will follow with a blog and let everyone know when I have re-done this blog.
