Most Recent Posts Florida State vs Miami this weekendPosted Sep-30-08 20:20:11 PDT Back when I was in college Florida State was in the midst of what we now call "it's hay-day" we were always in the top 10 and rarely ever lost. In my 6.5 years there, we won 2 national Championships! Also at that time University of Miami was just coming out of their hay-day. The Noles-Hurricanes game was so exciting. We weren't in the same conference back then but it didn't matter, it was a matter of pride. Now, both teams are "re-building" and who knows what is going to happen. Neither team are in the top 25 but it doesn't stop it from still being a matter of pride. My first road game as a college student was to this match-up, now, I live right here in South Florida so I can go see this game without the road trip. I'm planning my tailgating menu as we speak..... and you know that I WILL be wearing an apron like this one outside of Dolphin stadium this weekend.
The Olympics have gotten me jazzed up .... Go USAPosted Aug-13-08 11:47:45 PDT I listen to alot of NPR and read tons of blogs. Somedays it is all just downright depressing. The Economy, the housing slump, conflict all over the world, the list goes on and on. But, the Olympics have gotten me pumped up. Sure, there are still some sad stories from the Olympics, but in all, it seems to bring out the American Spirit. Go USA! Oh, and don't let me forget to include my shameless plug: Some choice listings I've got right now are handmade in the USA, Kino sandals in 4 sizes, 2 colors, collectible ticket stubs and a beautiful junior bridesmaid dress.
Free Quick*Sell Gallery from ISDN*tek Is it still wedding season? or have I missed the boat?Posted Aug-11-08 09:06:54 PDT I've been cleaning out my studio and there was a beautiful junior bridesmaid dress that has been hanging (in the dry cleaner's plasic) in the closet for about two years now. I kept intending to list it but never got around to it and now that I finally did.... no bids. I re-listed but now I'm thinking I may have missed the boat on wedding season. If you want to check it out I've relisted with a crazy low starting bid.....
Free Quick*Sell Gallery from ISDN*tek Watchers watchers watchersPosted Jun-09-08 04:32:46 PDT I must admit, I'm guilty. I have so many items on my watch list and seem to never go back in and clean them out. I've got items that have been in my watch list for months. Unfotunately, most of which I never had any intention of actually purchasing or bidding on. But, even though I get so excited about seeing watchers in the double digits, it doesn't always mean that I'm going to get lots of bids. These four items are my highest watched and two of them don't even have a bid yet!
Free Quick*Sell Gallery from ISDN*tek Charity for more charityPosted May-26-08 08:04:54 PDT Yesterday I listed an item with 100% of the proceeds going to charity. I've already got a bid on it too! The cool part is that although 100% goes to charity, it is an ad space for a completely free website that advertises charity auctions! Win win win, just not for MY wallet... for the charity. My pilanthropy of choice is the Susan G. Komen foundation. They are a breast cancer research and awareness charity. They host the Race for the Cure and I've proudly run in 3 of them and am signed up to run again this October. My mom died of breast cancer in '02 and running became my therapy. Running in the race for the cure is powerful for me. Everyone pins tags on their backs that read "In memory of..." or "in celebration of..." and they write in the names of their loved ones effected by breast cancer. I cry the entire race reading the backs of the runners. Check out my listing... thanks :)
