Archive - December 2007 Thank God for Leftovers!Posted Dec-26-07 09:24:33 PST If you're like me, Christmas dinner has to be better than any other dinner I've cooked throughout the year and there's got to be enough of it to feed an army! That way I can send "plates" home with guests and not have to cook for a few days. This year we didn't have any guests, but, I still cooked for an army. Any suggestions for the leftovers besides making split pea and ham soup, turkey tacos, and potatoe pancakes??? We have a star! Thank you!Posted Dec-19-07 07:32:26 PST Although we haven't sold much lately, we want to thank those of you who have purchased items from us for your gracious feedback. We now have our first star! Thank you! The rain is falling outside. Inside it is warm and serene. We happened to stumble across this internet radio station that plays Native American, Meditation, and Healing Therapy Music. What a great way to start the day! Speaking of which, yesterday in our blog, I made mention of this book of blessings that my husband and I read daily. Today's blessing was about just that, today! It said that ..."with each new dawn, delivered to our door is a fresh, new "package" called today"! We are designed by our higher power to be able to handle only "one" package at a time and are given the grace to do that as we live each day! How will your "today" be lived? December 18, 2007 ... from the book "Bedside Blessings" by Charles R. SwindollPosted Dec-18-07 06:50:34 PST Updated Dec-18-07 07:00:20 PST {There's nothing like crisis to expose the otherwise hidden truth of the soul. Any Soul. Remember Alexander Solzhenitzyn's admission? "It was only when I lay there on rotting prison straw that I sensed within myself the first stirrings of good...So bless you, prison, for having been in my life." Take away the cushion of comfort, remove the shield of safety, interject the threat of death...and it's fairly certain most in the ranks of humility commence to prayer. "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word." Psalm 119:67, NIV} Haho! Why must we wait until death is knocking to realize there is a heaven on earth? Start each day by getting out of the driver's seat, letting go, and letting your higher power steer you! Make amends today! Clean house and get rid of the garbage within you so you can have more room for the sunlight of the spirit! Don't forget the past - use it to develop today! Instead of thinking about what you can't do, think about what you can, then do it! Happy Holidays and May You Be Blessed!!! *** HAPPY! HAPPY! JOY! JOY! ***Posted Dec-14-07 10:47:44 PST Updated Dec-16-07 13:34:30 PST Good ole Ren & Stempy! I wonder whatever happened to them??? In my world, today is Friday, December 14, 2007, 10:35 a.m. (PST), the sun is out, the air is cool, and there are 10.5 shopping days 'til Christmas! My how time flys! We don't even have our 3 ft. artificial tree up yet! Oh, well! We're just "last-minute" folks I guess. My husband and I are celebrating our 5th year wedding anniversary on Christmas eve and I've been trying to figure out something special to give him that isn't socks or underwear. Any ideas? What's traditional? Happy! Joyous! and Free!Posted Dec-12-07 08:40:23 PST Updated Dec-12-07 08:41:50 PST These are the feelings I strive for everyday! When my husband and I get up in the morning we start our day with prayer and meditation. We consider or plans for the day and ask our higher power to direct our thinking, especially asking that it be divorced from self-pity, dishonest and self-seeking motives. We also ask for the ability to help others. We find that by helping others, we come out of our "selfish thinking". The holiday season is supposed to be a "joyous" time, yet, how many people do you know that are not. A kind word, a favor, or, a smile goes a long way. It can "make the day" of someone in their misery. Try it and see! You may find it helps your mood and attitude as well!!! *Peace!* When It Rains It Pours!Posted Dec-08-07 07:04:38 PST Updated Dec-08-07 07:05:43 PST Today I am blessed, both by the much needed rain outside and the shower of new Ebay friends on the inside. I find comfort in being able to provide things I no longer need to those that do. It is also nice to make a few dollars so I don't have to keep asking my husband to raise my allowance (lol). Thank you fellow Ebay-er's for your support and Happy Holidays! |
