Sometimes we get so caught up in "self" that we forget to give credit to those around us that help make us who we are.  For me that is my husband!  Regardless of the day he has outside of the house, he comes home with a smile, a kiss, and a kind word.  No matter how tired he is he makes time to show interest in what I have done during the day and how I feel.  This  kindness from the person I live with is awesome.  It's hard for me to maintain a bad attitude in light of his selflessness.  I must remember to tell him how much I appreciate him being a part of my life!
