I'm sure there is a lesson here besides the obvious...
My husband was not supposed to work today, however, he was called in at the last minute. His normal carpool had the day off so he had to drive the 30 miles to work in his car. He got a few exits from the jobsite and the car quit on him. He was able to get a ride the rest of the way to work and had the car towed home.
We have a "spare" car which we use in emergencies to go short distances. (It only goes into 1st and 2nd gear!) We figured we could at least get to the auto parts store in it, but, it turns out the battery is dead. What are the odds? Perhaps we're really not supposed to go anywhere today? Or maybe we need to junk these cars and get one that really works!
