Best Time of Year to Visit Disney World

As an Disney expert on several websites, the most common question asked is "when is the best time to visit Disney World?" If you are visiting Disney World for the best prices and least crowded times at the Disney Theme Parks, the answer is easy...September. The month of September is the best times of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for both discounts and crowds.

Disney Resorts have the lowest prices of the year this month, during the Value Season. You can save 50% off Disney Resort prices compared to the Holiday Season, so it is a great time to visit.  The month of September is not just a slower season for Disney World, it is also a slower season for all of Orlando tourism. You can save money on other discounts around Orlando and Disney World Resort area. Last year, the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin and Buena Vista Palace offer 20% discounts on their spa treatments in September. Lot of restaurants at Downtown Disney and Lake Buena Vista (right outside the gate of Disney) offer additional meal deal combos and discounts to bring customers to their restaurant. You will be surprised how many deals pop up around Orlando in September. It is a great time to visit for discounts!

September is also the best time to visit Disney World Theme Parks for crowds. You will be amazed at the lighter crowds as you walk on many of the rides with only 10-15 minute waits. The locals and Disney Cast Members bring their family's to Disney World in September, since we know that this is the month to avoid the crowds. Even with the shorter lines in September, be sure to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours and FastPass services. Even though September is a slower month in regards to crowds, we still believe that you should avoid waiting in any lines during a vacation. Maximize your time by minimizing the lines with Extra Magic Hours and FastPass.

September is one of the best months to visit Disney World, but you do have to be prepared for weather issues. The month of September is peak hurricane season. Since Disney World is in the middle of the state, we normally do not have alot of issues with hurricanes. However, you do have to be prepared for weather issues if you are flying into Orlando. The airlines will cancel flights if the weather is even slightly bad, which can cause lots of issues with your vacation. This is usually the biggest concern most guests face during a hurricane on a Disney World vacation. If you are visiting in September, be prepared for possible delays or cancellations, depending on the weather.

If you can visit in September, this is the best time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for prices and crowds. Visit Destinations in Florida Travel for more information about visiting in September. For more tips on saving time waiting in lines, visit us at Insider's Guide to Disney.
