American Idol Finale Results
Our Take 05-21-08
Part 1 -Michael's Take
The American Idol Finale Show was a long run... ran overtime as usual for this show lately...
There were so many scenes or segments on this American Idol Finale, that Michael and Tina are blogging their comments separately today:
Michael first...
The percentage of the scoring 56% to 44% was the vote tally - Ryan had to say that early didn't he? Either to suggest the 'favorite' had won... or to build up suspense! So there's no margin for error on the results... no recount...
Re: The Love Guru promo commerical - bad taste IMHO, almost as bad as Macy's Parade has become...
Ryan's intro of Jason Castro - Oh no Not JC solo!
Song 'She Works Hard...' Hey I miss Amanda and Carly performing!
Seacrest during the stomping song by Donna.... Alright Ryan!
Syesha and Donna Summer on Last Dance duet segment - Syesha held her own... She'll do good!
Carly and Michael Johns duet - Wow she Looks Hot!
Kimmel on Simon's year long comments that were set to music video - Funnnny!
'Sharp Dressed Man' - DC with ZZ Top - Why didn't DC sing THAT song last night?!!
DC in Guitar Hero commercial - WoW! Great Take Off!
Renaldo Lapuz with USC Marching Band - There's his 5 minutes of fame (again!) but I like him!
'Unseen Footage' of Gladys Knight and the 'Pips' tryouts... Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr - I liked this segment, not as much as Tina who just kept commenting about Jack and Robert's antics during the whole video, but I liked it!
Carrie Underwood's performance - WoW! Darn Good! However the lower level cameraman could have been more discreet in filming for a family show!
DA's Guitar Hero commercial - You gotta be kidding!
Top 12 Final Performance for Season 7 on the George Michael melody... Ok, but George's solo made me sleepy... and just before the results were given!
Just before the American Idol Results: Ryan asked the judges one more time of their thoughts. Randy had toned down his over exuberance for DA a bit. Paula said her usual nice things about both and actually came over better tonight in doing so. And then Simon apologized to DC for calling the show's results before voting started, after reviewing the previous night's tape. Did he have an inkling of what the results would be tonight...?
The Results...by 12 million votes, it's David Cook! Looks like the 'Curse of Simon' struck again for DA!
