CYBER MONDAY SALES?? - Niche SalesPosted Nov-27-06 07:40:26 PST Updated Nov-28-06 11:49:39 PST Last year "Cyber Monday" was not very successful for us at our eBay Featured Store! Probably because we were only selling unslabbed comics, which do not make a big 'splash' when opening the package. However this year we do have slabbed, 3rd party graded comics for sale, which are encapsulated within plastic holders and are very nice to view, and do make a 'Big Splash' upon opening the package they are mailed in. These are perfect gift items for collectors as they are sealed to certify the 'grade' of the comic book encapuslated. Cyber Monday is the Monday after Thanksgiving, which is supposed to be the busiest online shopping day. According to some new info this year, it appears that MAY no longer be true for the holiday season of 2006. I know for us that most of our auctions are closing on Tuesday, due to eBay's listing sale Tuesday of last week. We ran 3, 5 & 7 day auction listings, none of which could be closed today. We do have a few Fixed Price/Submit Your Best Offer 'core' listings that could be closed today however, and approximately 1,300 store listings. (Plus over 4,000 more listings in our eBay Pro Store at www.MakeItSoMarketing.com ) Just as "Black Friday" (the day after Thanksgiving) used to be the busiest time for B&M Stores.... however, that has also changed according to recent research. Now it's said to be the weekend before Christmas, namely Saturday. We do not have a brick and mortar store, so that would not include us. Matter of fact we usually take a vacation week during that period of time as it's too late for mailed items to arrive in time for Christmas by then. The below photo shows what an encapsulated third party graded comic book looks like from us. We only deal in CGC 3rd party certified comics, which are the most popular 3rd party graded comics. The above are my thoughts on this Cyber Monday morning, and how it affect niche sales like ours! Any comments??!! Michael
