Well, There Could Be....
At The SDCC Comic Con International This Year!
One of the reasons a lot of attendees attend the exhibit hall at the SD Comic Con is to see the other attendees that arrive in costume, and either get their pics or get a photo with them!
I have blogged about several costumed characters before, but never Zatanna as pictured to the top right! This DC Comics character is becoming more popular at Cons because of her increased exposure and actions in more DC Comics starting in 2004...
Some comics universes have so many characters that writers just can't do justice to them all!
Other characters, such as Dr Strange, (Marvel Comics' Sorcerer Supreme), get repeated chances to do well by having multiple series come out, but not hit the 'big time'...
A Con goer can usually tell who's currently 'hot' by attending the 'masquerade' and seeing how many entries there are with the same characters. Wonder Woman is a perennial favorite of course!
I remember past masquerades at the SDCC that had an overload of Sailor Moon and Lord of the Ring entries when they were 'hot'!
Nothing wrong with those franchises IMHO, just using those years as an example...
We also have an ongoing Comic Con and Pop Culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

'Zatanna', a powerful sorceress in the DC Comics Universe, usually appears to be a 'magician' to those that are not aware of her history. This 'Zatanna', based on Zatanna who first appeared in the DC Universe in 1964, appeared at the Dragon Con 2007 in the above photo. Hopefully there will be 'magical moments' like this at the upcoming SDCC Comic Con International 2008!
