Most Recent Posts I'm unsure what to doPosted Oct-15-06 20:48:54 PDT I was talking to a friend of mine on saturday and telling him I would like to start my own business ,and I told him about my idea and he said he would loan me $2000.00 to get started . I am just kind of unsure of what to do, if I take him up on the loan idea and can't swing the payment that will not be good. And the business might not do to good this time of year here in PA. But on the other hand maybe I might ber able to pick up some business between now and christmas to help make some payments. I know business will improve around April of 2007 , so maybe we could work something out!! With a whack whack here!!Posted Sep-07-06 22:29:21 PDT I have been unemployed and now am underemployed, I'm over 40 and a cancer survivor (I try to thank God everyday for that) I hit on the idea of a Poultry Processing business last year when I went with my sister to get her chickens processed, So I talked to the owner and he said he would train me and give me referrals when I got started. Training is now completed , and I loved every minute!! The problem I'm having is buying equipment, and getting start up financing. First the poultry plucker (a fine tool for removing the feathers) cost anywhere in the neighorhood of $1100.00 up to $2850.00 . Second is the scalder which run from $200.00 (inexpensive model ) up to $2850.00 ,. Third is a Meat Bandsaw which runs from $200.00 up To 6 or 7k, besides buying stainless steel tables etc. And although I plan on starting small and working into a fulltime business in a year or so, just coming up with the financing is Difficult. I plan on making my Processing business a mobile unit so that I can go to the small farms etc and do their poultry processing for them, saving them Gas and time!! I don't know anyone who wouldn't pay an extra .25 cent per chicken to save on their fuel bill!! Any idea's or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! To control the chicken population please have your chicken spayed or caponed!! |
