Most Recent Posts Selling Genuine Name Brands On EbayPosted Feb-27-08 15:52:25 PST I've been using Ebay for a few years and only recently started selling name brand clothing and accessories. I tried to think of everything I could to make my store easily shopped and a destination for buyers. The one thing I didn't think about was the work it would take to get people to trust you as an authentic supplier of genuine name brands. I mean, my intentions were good so I assumed buyers would see this through the store design. The first month of my store I listed 300 items with a 100% positive feedback score of 33. I didn't think much of it at the time but soon realized that this was extremely detramental to me. My store traffic was great. I was getting significant traffic the first week with many watchers. The problem was that the watchers were not turning into sales. I was puzzled. How could I have 50-75 watchers and no sales? What become increasingly appearant was that it was difficult for buyers to trust a store with a feedback score of 33 and so many listings. I knew my prices were right by comparing myself to other stores. I also new the items were right because they were the latest styles from my manufacturers. It was only with time and positive feedback for related items that my sales began to increase. I realized the importance of delivering a strong product in great packaging once the sale was completed to reassure the buyer of their great purchase. I see time and good feedback as the only was get through this temporary issue. |
