so i recently found out that i was elligible for a replacement cell phone, which meant that i could finally get rid of that POS i got when i first ordered the service (we won't say which provider, but they rhyme with BINT). if you have them, then you know that they've recently upgraded their billing systems and all of that is integrated with their website. so i called them up to do some simple maintenance on my account and the new pin that i had created online, they were telling me it was wrong. oh well, it's a good thing they have a backup method of verification. new upgrades are almost always full of bugs, right?
so i had them change my plan and all that and i was looking online at the phone upgrades. the list i was looking at showed both sprint and nextel phones. 'cool,' i thought. 'they've integrated systems, i guess.' i even asked the agent i was talking to and they said that i could get a nextel phone and it would work on my sprint account. two days later and the phone arrived. i go to activate it and... uh... nope.
the phone must be a sprint phone... i can't activate a nextel phone. so the guy i was talking to on the phone was a moron. and now i have to go to the process of getting them to send me a return kit and order a new phone...
however, sometimes all you have to do is talk nicely and to the right people and you can get what you want. i just was able to grab two LG rumors for my trouble at $49 a piece. i don't want to say this, but they just might bill me for full price on both of these phones and i'll be calling them again next week. shhh. i hope not. knock on wood.
