eBay's latest attempt to push store owners out of business is laugh worthy.

if the powers that be really want sellers to move items from store inventory to auction or fixed price listings, they should offer a FREE MOVE-LISTING DAY !

My daughter is a break-out jewelry designer that has a web site, www.laurencarina.com

She wants to open an eBay store for the exposure that she sees me get on Micdoctor-Mart, my store attached to www.micdoctor.com

There is a lot of jewelry out there, does anyone have an opinion as to whether opening a store would be a viable opportunity?

so, i work odd hours. i have several jobs that overlap, all my own company. so this morning i worked till 1:30 am on my websites and ebay store. at 7 am i was rudely awakened by lawn guys with commercial equipment on my neighbors lawn. my wife woke up with my cursing, and went out to tell the guys that it was too early to be doing lawn work in our neighborhood. the haitian guy was rude, saying something like "if you had a job you would be awake already". so she came back to bed, angry, and i coaxed her to tell me what happened. she told me.

a few minutes later, the same lawn guy started another yard a few houses away. now it was my turn.

armed with my sony voice recorder and stun gun, i went to confront the guy. first i ran across his assistant, who i asked if he was an illegal immigrant and he answered "yes". then he pointed to his boss on the industrial mower. i approached him with my recorder and asked him to "stop". repeatedly. suddenly, he veered right and took off. i chased him and triggered my stun gun just to scare him. it worked. i walked away, and he stopped the mower and yelled "stop" so i knew he understood me and was ignoring me. i continued home and noticed he pulled out a cell phone and started talking. now it gets good.

my son and a friend were outside waiting for me, and i said let's go, this is going to get better. to wit.

a paramedic unit arrived to assist the guy, who said i sprayed something in his eyes. one, two , three, four police cars showed up with Boca Raton's finest. i explained i did not spray anything, and emptied my pockets with the voice recorder and stun gun. Six officers were now on site, with 4 forming a perimeter around me.

i was berated the by four officers while a supervisor watched and another officer talked to the lawn guy. the paramedics said there was no spray. the officers said "what is that on your shirt?" i wiped my finger, licked it, and said Chee-tos.

the cops also chided me about my voice recorder, saying i had to inform people that i was recording them. how do you do that when they don't speak english? i told the cop i was recording him and was within my rights.

Net, I was told i could have been charged with felony assult but the lawn guy didn't press charges because he was a Christian. I bet he was hollering for jesus when he saw the stun gun.

After a few minutes, the officers came to my house and returned my stun gun, which i offered to relinquish. We chatted, and then they probably headed off to Krispy Kreme for some breakfast donuts and chuckles.

Net cost to city of boca raton, about $5k. Value to me of keeping the early morning silent, priceless.

And you wonder why there is a movement to boot out all the illegal immigrants.

The cops protect them more than a tax paying, voting, neighborhood activist citizen.

Micdoctor is not happy at all, and will persevere for all those who are tormented by pre-dawn lawn jockeys.
