What's it Worth?

Puppy, dog, pound, mixed breed, cute, aceo
I'd like to try a new feature here on my ebay blog. It gives me an excuse to show off my artwork, and it provides me with some data. It also gives you a chance to play art critic and pricer. Sound like fun? This first piece is an ACEO/art card, 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. Here's the auction itself: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190219869487&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=009So, the big question, what would YOU pay for this item, assuming you had the money? Please leave your answer in the comments. Thanks for playing. Mike

A Graduation Gift Idea

Here's a great idea for your favorite graduate. Get them a custom drawn caricature done by a professional caricature artist.

Don't feel obligated to portray them in the typical cap and gown get-up. Put them in the outfit of their favorite gaming character, comic book or manga character, movie hero or villain, novel protaganist, the uniform or outfit of their fantasy occupation, or just about anything.

I've got a great offer going on this week, and probably for another few weeks. And even at the BUY IT NOW price, it's a great bargain.

And the caricatures I do are very simple to matte and frame yourself. Any quality art store will carry a variety of pre-cut mattes and frames (think school colors) that will make your gift look like you spent a load of money.

But don't wait. I usually have a three week turnaround on caricatures. I can do rush jobs, but I usually charge a small fee, so don't wait much longer! June is coming soon.

How's It Going?

How's that boycott coming along?

What Would You Pay?

Just a question.

If someone were to create custom avatars for your MySpace, Facebook, or other site that wants you to have a square image of your lovely self, what would you pay for such a service?

Lemme know. I'm thinking about putting something like that up for sale here on ebay.

What Boycott? I'm Baaaaaaack!

Hey kids, I'm back and I'm ready to sell a truckload of art.

We talked about the eBay boycott on my podcast, Open Mike, Insert Foot, last night, but I don't think it will happen. Even if it does, I can't see it affecting the company's new policies all that much.

It would have been nice to have the initial fees dropped a bit more, but ehn! What can you do? Ideally, I'd like to see free listings forever, but that would screw the people that are actually selling stuff.

I'm glad to see that eBay has implemented a new ratings system, which is more specific in regards to certain aspects of a transaction. That's great. Wish I knew about it last night... lol.

Well, with all this noise about a boycott, someone's going to be upset to see that some of us are actually returning to the fold. Ooops.
