Share Your Thoughts: Christmas Gifts for My Dad

Since I have been old enough to pick out my father's Christmas gifts, I have struggled with finding something for him. Maybe you guys can give me some input. Let me tell you a little about him: He's 57 years old, a workaholic, recently bought a Harley Davidson that he loves riding, and his only other hobby is sitting in front of the TV watching Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Animal Plant or similar channel (DVDs out because he won't even consider it...lol). And that's my father in 50 words or less. :) It's so hard to shop for him because if he decides he wants something, he just goes and gets it. And since Christmas is on a budget for us, well that makes shopping for him even harder. Anyone have any suggestions? If so, PLEASE list them! If you have something at auction, provide me with the number and I'll be happy to take a look.

i have seen harley wall clocks. maybea photo of him or a buch w/ the bike- when he doesn't know. put in an album.

How about picking up a gift at your local Harley Davidson store? They have all sorts of neat things there, even Harley Davidson cans of coffee.

I don't know if he likes to ride cross country, but you could always get him a free night's stay at a hotel in an area where they have motorcycle events....like Sturgess, or Bikes, Blues and BBQ here in Arkansas.

Crafty, glad you mentioned that....I should have also added that he is always at home when it isn't at work. Workaholic by day, homebody by night. lol

Bengal, a clock would be a good idea but my mother would refuse to let him hang put it anywhere. lol

And since he quit smoking 30 years go, cigars are out too. :(

But this is exactly what I'm looking for....keep 'em rolling!

What about a flask, does he play golf. I have a very nice flask/golf kit available from colibri.

Perhaps a service gift, you know a gift card or coupon from you for a carwash would be useful and not add to clutter.

What about one of those pouch leather-looking bags that the riders place over the seat of their bike that hangs down on either side? It's designed to hold small things like groceries, wallets, etc. I don't know what they cost but it might be an option if all else fails.

Picture frame that has the cut out matting for several photos? Some of him on the bike, in his chair, from his childhood, other family members, with mom etc. They also make those tin signs for parking..."Parking for Harley Owners Only"
