Good Morning eBayers! 

My youngest daughter is going for her driving test this Friday.  NO WAY is she going to pass!  Man, does she ever need more practice...almost got us killed once, almost wrecked the car once...missed the pedestrian by a couple of feet though...thank God!  I told her to cancel the test, but apparently she's already moved the date forward once and we'll now have to pay regardless...so she's going for it.  Watch out everyone!

And, get this, she got mad at ME for shreiking!  Said it really freaked her out to have me screaming in the passenger seat...go figure.  We almost got hit by cars going in BOTH directions as she'd pulled out with nowhere to go because there was NO TURNING LANE.  Holey Moley!  We were only saved by the skill of the other drivers. 

I'm taking her out for more practise most of today and tomorrow.  I'm terrified!  Oh, well.  You'll all thank me in the end.  If you don't hear from me for a while...or ever...you'll know what happened. 

Reminds me of that Diana Ross song...'so say a little prayer for me'...

Okay...so maybe it is really weird, but it is still pretty funny...admit it.

GOOD MORNING EBAYERS!

I checked my e-mail this morning and discovered an extra $15.  had been deposited into my Paypal account from a customer!  What happened was, I sold an item and the customer chose the cheapest shipping (without tracking) and paid immediately, even though I wrote that my preference was for customers to pay the extra for tracking.  Anyway, while I was packaging the item, I wasn't happy with the amount of packaging material and decided to go with a slightly larger box to fit in the larger size bubble wrap.  When I got the package to the post office and they measured the box, the postmistress told me the small difference in size had bumped the shipping into the stratosphere!  Instead of $10.55 for shipping (non-trackable) that the customer had paid me, the cost was now $24. !!! (I also added tracking, not feeling comfortable with the non-tracking the customer chose).   I e-mailed the customer that I had made choices in the shipping without consulting him because I wanted to add more packaging materials and was prepared to absorb the loss; after all, he hadn't signed on for the shipping to increase so substantially. 

Paypal had e-mailed me that an extra $15. had been deposited to my account from this customer...then I saw the customer had e-mailed me too!  He wrote that he appreciated the extra care I took in packaging and had already paid the money I thought I was out.  Whew!!!  What a terrific customer!  Still, even if he hadn't paid the extra, I had made up my mind not to worry about the loss...live and learn.  My faith in the spirit of generosity of ebay customers is not without foundation!

I created a blog page on google.  I am having trouble with API and sitemaps etc and don't know if others can see my blog page.

Also, if you have a moment, take the POLL too...I need to know if this works.

Here are some of my listings.

Okay...this is too much.  The dog is barfing all over the house!  After the first barf-fest, hubby went off to bed...daughter too.  They left me to clean up all the dog barf by myself.  I made turkey soup earlier and picked off some scraps for our little dog...she loves that.  For some reason, it didn't agree with her tonight.  Too fatty maybe?  I scooped  
 the fat and loose bits off the top of our soup to give to the dog and she really enjoyed it...and since I hadn't added the cabbage yet I don't know what I did wrong.  We ate up all our soup...really tasty...we're not sick...and don't get what's up with the dog. 

The gag factor is at its peak right now.  I won't go into details, but you can imagine.  I tried to go into my serene place in my mind as I scooped. It's after midnight and I'm still washing floors...such a bummer.  Have to give the dog credit though...she cleaned up one of the barfs herself...just trying to help I guess.  My stomach is just ROILING now.  Gotta go.

I don't know.... Is there any point in complaining?  I nearly had a heart attack this past weekend because of my wayward teen daughter.  I'm sure many of you out there can relate.  They make your life a roller coater ride.  Frankly, I'm too tired out for all that drama.  My energy is worn down to a nub because of everything that is going on...not just with my teen or my Mother's Alzheimer's, but lots of stuff that has to do with ongoing renovations and the usual daily grind.  AAArrrGGGhhhh!  I feel like I'm going MENTAL here!  Guess I need a vacation.

Anyway...teen daughter went with her bf and others to a concert downtown.  Prior to leaving, they had a few shots of vodka at bf's house...probably stolen from a parent (ooops...let me go check...hmmm...bottle still there, but empty. Damn!) My teen daughter is allergic to booze, not to mention the potatoes the vodka is made from, and she had a bad reaction and collapsed while lined up to get into the concert.  Bf had to call an ambulance.  Meanwhile, I was in Muskoka with my parents.  Hubby called me up there to tell me 'some boy' called to say our teen was in the hospital.  He didn't know which one, he didn't know WHY she was in the hospital, he didn't have a clue who had called.  He did get a phone number, but it was my teen's cell number which HE DID NOT REALIZE!  He's TERRIBLE in an emergency.  I wanted to hop in the car and drive down to the city...but didn't have a DESTINATION.  I called highway patrol who patched me through to city police who gave me the number for the EMS.  Called EMS and they wouldn't give me any info for reasons of CONFIDENTIALITY.  So, I asked for the supervisor...being a Mom herself, she told me what happened and where to go.  Jumped in the car and took off for the city.  Teen daughter's bf's father was there, hubby was there. 

I made small talk with daughter's bf's father for HOURS.  Explained about her allergies, but she KNEW she was allergic...so EMBARASSING!  I can only imagine what he was thinking...my DRUNK daughter was corrupting his handsome, talented son.  Anyway, the bf was unaware of my teen's allergy to booze and told me he would make sure this never happened again.  To his credit, he never left her side from the moment she collapsed...about 9 hours (plus another friend...a girl, stayed with her until her Dad came to pick her up in the middle of the night...yes, I had to talk to him too.  Wanted the sidewalk to open up and swallow me).  Lots of young guys wouldn't know what to do in this situation...might have propped her up against  
 a wall and gone into the concert hall with the rest of the group. 

Wayward teen daughter was finally released from hospital.  I didn't get mad...that's our deal, so she'll call me to pick her up anytime, anywhere to be safe...but the next morning, Sunday, I had a talk with her.  Hope this never happens again.  I'm getting too old for this nonsense and it deflates me...saps my strength for days because of the stress.  To top it all off, she's been really pissy with me tonight, after she'd finished eating the food I made for her, of course.  Guess there is a reason young people want to leave home at some point...guess there is also a reason why we let them go.
