Ripped off on Ebay

2 years ago I sold a Seadoo part on ebay. The buyer sent an email asking if I would send to AU. I gave him a quot for shipping on it and he won. I sen the part via USPS, due to the size it had to go partial post. Well to Australia it takes some time becuase its fright. Two weeks later the buyer filed a claim saying he didn't recive it yet though PayPal. PayPal asked if I had a tracking, I did but something was wrong with it and it didn't work and I had a return addres on it. So the buyer ended up getting a full refund $285.00 for the part, $55 shipping, plus a $11.42 clam fee. So I was out of $350 bucks and no part! Just the other night I was surfing ebay and ran across a part that looked just like the one I sold. It's was! I looked at the sellers name it was the same on my PayPal transaction and his address of parts loction. I have been trying to contact the seller about this and he wont reply. What should I do? Here is the Item number: 270204117108 on Ebay

I would file a police report myself. It's been 2 years...not sure you have any recourse on ebay now.

And besides, what's he going to say? "Sure, I got the part and now I'm selling it." No, he'll just lie.

Around seven years ago I bought a Seadoo GTX on ebay. It came out of Norfolk, Virginia. I sent a cashier's check in the amount of 1,700.00. I was supose to pick up up labor day weekend. Well, the seller called and said he would ship it to me. So we vacationed in Florida. A week later the ski arrived stripped just a hull. The guy would not refund me my money. Contacted an Attorney and said there is not much they can do on internet sales items. That was a hard lesson to learn for a single mom of two teenage boys.

This is a classsic example of WHY NOT to sell across the borders, selling in the USA provides MUCH more protection. Thank you for posting this, I am looking for a used waverunner and had run across this my personal toy postings. TY for the heads up and good luck! B

I always advocate using Paypal. With Paypal you have a source that will help you with payment and or receipt problems. They have helped me twice and I highly recommend buyers and sellers look into using Paypal.
