War Between Sellers & Buyers

I am seeing a trend recently, that is disturbing to me. I read the community boards frequently & I am seeing a War Breaking Out. Sellers against Buyers & Buyers against Sellers.

I am sad to see these changes. I started on EBay in 2003.

I have had 2 different stores in the past. I closed the last 1 last year. I now list in Core only. I have seen many changes along the way. Many that made sellers unhappy, to say the least.

What is important here is we are all people. People come in many types , including good & not so good. You should not lump all Buyers together, or, all Sellers together.

We are all individuals , with our own Free Will.

We should all be working together to make our experiences pleasant. Sellers need Buyers & Buyers need Sellers. This is a partnership in many ways.

We need to work together. I feel Good Communication is key.

If you are unhappy with a purchase, before slamming stars or Feedback- try & work with the Seller.

I feel that given the chance to fix a problem, most of the Sellers here would choose to do so. Sometimes they are not ever contacted.

Sellers can not fix a problem for you if they do NOT KNOW there is one.

If you have an issue & the Seller is uncooperative or does not respond, then by all means , grade them accordingly.

In the time I have been a member on EBay , I have had my percentage of not so positive experiences. Less as a Buyer, than as a Seller.

But , on the whole, I have had & have some of the Best Customers & Sellers you could ask for.

All Sellers are not Bad & All Buyers are not Thieves.

I hate to say this , but if everyone put as much energy into having a good experience as they do fighting with each other, they would have no reason to fight.

Customer Service is important, but Buyers Etiquette is just as important.

Buyers should read thoroughly the description & Shipping. Ask any questions prior to bidding or buying.

Pay within the allotted time frame. Communicate with your Seller.

FEEDBACK - IS OPTIONAL.

Sellers should give Good Accurate HONEST Descriptions, good actual pictures -not Stock Photos.

Combine Shipping when possible.

Be reasonable with Handling Charges.

Pack Well & Ship within a reasonable amount of time.

Communicate with the Buyer.

FEEDBACK- IS OPTIONAL.

These are just my thoughts. It upsets me to see so much discord on this sight these days.

EBay used to be a great place & Buyers & Sellers built relationships, sometimes even friendships. It seems that today , with all the New Changes, the Community has become divided.

Together WE STAND, Divided, WE FALL.

Greetings! Yes, indeed...Not all change is for the better...BUT...There is more to come...By the first half of September eBay will be drowning in unhappy sellers and buyers...When this cuts into their profits (and by the numbers it already is) then and only then will we see change...And this time, for the better. Have a lovely day...Granny Rose

Well in accordance with the new e-bay changes feedback is only optional if you dont care about search engine placement, discounts on your invoice, the possibility of getting suspeneded due to unwarrented neg feedback from unreasonable customers..and oh yeah..e-bay will make sure to remind you and your customer many many times that feedback is owed, and will be sure to remind the customer that the seller can no longer leave negative feedback for them (so if you feel like you paid a dollar too much) be sure to slam the seller...Oh btw..if the buyer does not pay you and you file a dispute, all the buyer has to do is answer the dispute (not pay, just answer) and they get to leave you feedback..how nice that they are really upset that e-bay has contacted them already to let them know they are a deadbeat,,so just go ahead and leave a glowing feedback for the seller that you just cost time and money and tied up thier item for 2 weeks because you changed your mind and did not want to pay...if that is what you mean by OPTIONAL..then i concur with you wholeheartedly....

Thank you for your responses.
I still feel we can work together, as people.Sellers & Buyers, alike.

Yes, there are unreasonable buyers, & no it is not fair that we can not leave anything but positive feedback. But, it is still optional, & if you are not Happy with a transaction, as a Seller- Do Not Leave any Feedback.

There are also unreasonable Sellers. If a Buyer tries to work out a problem & gets no satisfaction, then they should grade accordingly.

I do feel that a Buyer should be required to communicate with the seller, and wait 7 days before being able to post less than positive Feedback. Give the Seller the 7 days to work with the Buyer, to fix the problem.

The bottom line is -people are people. We can choose to work together or against each other. I choose to work together , as working against each other, benefits no-one.

HOW CAN THIS NOT BE THE SINGLE BIGGEST ISSUE ON EBAY RIGHT NOW!!!! I RAN 90 AUCTIONS AND JUST HAD TO FILE 27 NON PAYMENT DISPUTES. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN MY ALMOST 10 YEARS ON EBAY. NOT TO MENTION I JUST RECIEVED AN EMAIL FROM ONE OF THOSE NON PAYERS CURSING ME OUT! I AM SURE IT WILL BE FOLLOWED BY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AND THERES NOT A DAMN THING CAN DO!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS BEYOND UNFAIR!!!!! IT SHOULD BE CRIMINAL!!!

I agree this is wrong. This is something that EBAy needs to fix. I too have had my share of non payers & unreasonable people, but , that does not mean all buyers are like this. I have been lucky to have a lot more great customers , than bad.

I just feel everyone should work together to make our experiences pleasant ones. As I said, if a seller has no clue there is a problem, they can not fix it.

Asa Buyer I do not go into the transaction expecting a bad experience anymore than when I sell. It happens, but not every day.
EBay needs to fix the Feedback problem, this is agreed.
