Ebay Addictions Anonymous

Open to Suggestions

Well today is my B-day. I woke up to two surprises. One good and one bad. I have won a contest and the prize is two books by an author I like. Its a nice way to start the day. However, when I logged into Ebay I saw I have some problems on some auctions I won. Apparently this one seller added items I bought from them back in mid November to the two I won last night. I kind of wonder how that can happen. Especially since I paid for everything from November with Paypal and so they must have a record of it. I sent them my comfirmation email with the noted payment but this is one of 4 problems I have had with this seller. The other 3 were easy to take care of but this 4th one seems a bit...much. I like the items this seller lists and it's going to be hard not to want to bid on their future auctions if these problems keep popping up. This is only the second time I've ever had trouble with anyone on Ebay and it never goes well so I'm crossing my fingers that all turns out well. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Happy Birthday! My only suggestion is to e-mail the seller to calmly explain the problem. Hope it works out for you.

I suspect your seller has their invoices automated and, if there was any refund or return or anything else on the original three items already paid for, the sales records can get left updated incorrectly. When you made your subsequent purchase, the invoicing sees the others as unpaid and puts them on the current invoice. I have had that happen. Just let the seller know of the error and let them correct it. I would not sweat this one too hard.

When you made the payment for the other three items was it a combined payment? Was it made using the seller's invoice, or did you go directly to PayPal to send the payment? Did your seller actually collect the payment? (can happen with bad email address, and I had one recently that PayPal declared I had to redeem...it showed as "authorized" in my PayPal...I had never seen that before and the 24 hour authorization expired. I had to have my customer send payment again.)

hey happy birthday! :D

The only reason I can think of is perhaps they forgot or accidentally marked your previous purchases as unpaid, therefore when seller tries to invoice you this time, the previous auctions were included. Give the seller an email, could very well be a misunderstanding.. well you know, ebay sometimes ;_;

Have you already received the items that you paid for in November?

It is an easy fix for the seller to take care of and if they are legit... they will be happy to do so. Sometimes having things automated is good and sometimes it's down right confusing. Like I told my hubby when he bought his new car... "All the more bells and whistles... all the more that can go wrong." Keep smiling... after all... it is your birthday. Happy Birthday!

kitty, if any portion of refund was issued, even a refund for over payment of shipping, the items will show as unpaid again. I find that to be an eBay Seller Manager glitch, but it happens.

umm, jcarolek.. that is weird cos I always do partial refunds for my decorative tapes auctions.. I have repeated buyers too and never had that happened to me before.
