Needlepoint Canvas Shop and More

STITCHERS, how many projects do you have in your stash unworked/ and how many are you working on now!

Lets really start blogging and get an on line stichers circle going here, please post any tips, tricks or things you have discovered while needlepointing, lets all share and try to make this a nice friendly place to exchange ideas and blog away about our stitching, things only needlepointers really understand.  Like why we would spend 1/2 of our paycheck on a project or why we feel the need to have a huge stash of unworked projects packed away most stitchers will tell you  they have at least 10 unworked projects in their endless stash along with 3 that they are working on now!  Do we ever really finish every project or as most stitchers will say "I will not start one more or buy one more project until I finish all the ones I already have"  So, how many do you have stashed away and how many are you working on right now!

We welcome new,and experienced stitchers to participate or those wanting to learn to stitch.  As always, we are happy to help with your project even if you didn't buy it from us you can always call or e mail us if you are stumped on a stitch, need help choosing a color or anything else.  Remember we are a real shop not just a seller and are here to help out anyway we can.  Let's all keep on stitching and replying to this blog!!

I was on the general web looking for someone to blog with and if you are really interested in needlepoint, I am interested in writing or blogging with you. I love to needlepoint! My name is Mary Lou and I needlepoint every day! My problem is that I have too many projects going. I do not know why. Today is Friday, July 21, 06. Yesterday, I purchased another canvas. It is quite large. It is a bright piece of two cats. I love cats. I had three; but I had to put one to sleep two weeks ago. Tayler was a beautiful purebred Mainecoon who had lived with us probably eight years. She bloomed with us. Anyway, the canvas is a 13 count, and is the colors are a vibrant purple, pink, turqoise, trimmed in gold. Yes, the second cat is done in bright orange. I do not know who did the canvas. The colors go well together. They are done in stripes quite wide. I am doing the tails in variagated purple and turquoise but I feel I picked up the wrong turquoise as I don't feel it has enough variagation in it. I am doing the one tail in a cashmere stitch. Started doing the other tail in another stitch do not recall the name but I do not like it so I am going to take it out and do another stitch short long short. Sorry that is all I can recall. Well, I hope you will blog. I did sit down earlier in the week and write down who I have given needlepoint items to as I give many of my things away. Most in fact. I have given about 30 pillows and framed items away and have about 10 more "almost" ready. What is the easiest way to find your blog?

I commented a couple days ago to your blog and have been waiting for your reply. I am disappointed as I have heard nothing from you. I worked yesterday and today on my cat canvas. I hope to go into Ada to the shop where I get most of my supplies this week to pick up an orange and a bluish-green variagated thread as I do not like the one I purchased. It doesn't have enough variagation in it for me. The purple one I picked for the one cat's tail worked out fine but the other one didn't.

I have a couple oranges here but there are not bright enough. I cannot work on just one project at a time. I am too restless. Plus the concentration level. I would however like to have these cats down in two weeks which would be fast for me. I think I will get them framed. I love them as they are cool in my mind. I am eager to hear from you.

I really try not to count how many pieces I have in my stash-too depressing! I have been trying lately to actually finish some older projects. I have one, a Janlynn kit that I don't even like anymore but am determined to complete. It's a victorian house surrounded by trees and flowers. The flowers are where I learned how to do my french knots. I am almost done with this ...then what do I do with it-any suggestions?
The last piece I finished was an Orna Willis counted needlepoint bracelet-I am extremely please with it. I have been getting into counted needlepoints lately, also have been painting my own as well when I can't find anything either worth stitching or reasonably price that is not terribly juvenile.
By the way-if Mary Lou is still checking out this blog, I wouldn't mind keeping in touch with you. Marilyn

Just discovered your blogs. For those of you who are working on many projects and never seem to get anywhere... try the following. Keep a record of how long you work on a project. When you reach 10 hours, put it aside and pick up another piece. Work on that one for 10 hours and then put it down and move to the third, etc.

I too am a collector of canvases. I'm addicted to ebay and love to find good buys on designer canvases. Every couple of months I go shopping in my closet and I'm amazed at what I have. Canvases that I had totally forgotten about. There just aren't enough hours in the day.

Hope to hear from you all again. Jill
