How do I handle this situation?

The Message

Hi I just wanted to let you know that when I recieved the boots I didn't open the package all the way because I wanted to keep it wrapped, they were for my daughter for x-mas. when she opened them I noticed a faded stained on one of the boots. I was completely humiliated. I have been buying on ebay for a few yrs now and have never had this problem. The fact that they came in a box that weren't eeven uggs shoukd have tipped me off that there was an issues with these boots. They also were late which I could understand since you were sick. you need to tell me how you would like to handle this situation. I don'e want to have to contact ebay if on't have to .

Well let me first thank you for contacting me first.  The first thing you should do is go back to the auction and review it.  Please review the description and the return policy.  I'm sure that after reviewing the auction you will see that in the description of these boots is, 'new without box'.  You will also see this in the description. ':::NOTICE::: These boots have a light discoloration on I believe the left boot.'  The description was revised, however it states that description was revised and if you click the 'revised' link in the description area it will state that after a bid has been placed on the item that only so many adjustments can be made to the auction.  If there are any revisions made in the description after a bid, the revision will be sectioned off at the end with a date.  I say all of this to show that I am a very honest person and would never sell an item on ebay under a false description.  It isn't my fault that you didn't read this auction, neither is it my responsibility to accept the item back.  There are a ton of ebayers who would tell you tough luck but because I'm not a ton of ebayers I'll accept a return on this item and your refund will be for $92.25 credited to your paypal account.  Reading is fundamental, please contact me if you have any further questions.  Also if this does not satisfy you please do contact ebay because I'm sure they'll tell you the same thing minus the part about accepting a return.  Have a blessed day.

Does anybody know why...

Thanks Shelbomeyers for you help, maybe I should make my question a little more clear. LOL

I was wondering how eBay decides how much you have to bid on certian items.

Some auctions I have to place bids in increments of .50, and some I have to place bids in incraments of $1.

Increment of $.50

Like if I wanted to bid on a hat that is going for $6, next to the box where I place my bid it will say something like, "You must enter a bid of $6.50 or more."

Increment of $.5

On another auction that is going for $2.90 it may say, "You must enter a bed of $2.95 or more."  Does anybody know why this is?

My auction prices

Is there some type of way to set the incraments that your bidders have to bid or does eBay do that?

I'm curious because I noticed that when shopping on eBay some items I have to bid no less than a dollar higher and on others (including mine) bidders can bid however they want.

I know you guys will have the answer for me , thanks again.

I changed my hair color for the 1st time!

Where I come from, any color hair but your natural color classifies you as a hood-rat.  What exactly is a hood-rat?  Well lets break it on down like a fraction.

hood- short for neighborhood, the area where you live.
rat- nasty animal from the gutter that nobody wants to be around.

hoodrat- nasty or just plain old ghetto female (or male) from your neighborhood that nobody wants to be around.
For some odd reason there are two main hoodrat hair colors.
They are red and blond and I swore that I would never, ever take on red or blonde.
Well funny thing happened.  I wanted a rust color but my uncle only had matador which is dark red.  In order for the red to come out brighter he had to give me permanent highlights.
So my highlights are BLONDE and my rinse is RED.  So once my red rinse fades, my hair will be blonde.

Money Orders, closer look at FRAUD

Let me thank everyone for your answers to my question in my last post about money orders.  I didn't know that there was that much money order faking going on.  The comments in the last post offered a lot of conversation.

**Please feel free to leave your suggestions about protecting ourselves from fraud.**

marketplaceboutique: in order to have a paypal account you have to fund it some kind of way right?  Well some people don't have checking accounts or credit cards and I believe those are the only two ways you can actually add money to your account.  Really its the only way to have an account if I'm not mistaken.

to all:  I found that if you get a control number for money gram money orders you will always know if the money is there or not.  To avoid embarassment, getting scammed, and going to jail for trying to deposit a fake money order, western union, money gram, or USPS, you can always call the 800 customer service number.  When you call them you just explain to them that you sold something to someone online and want to make sure that the money order is in fact not a fake.  They will ask for the number on the money order and verify for you.

stopbuythursday: When someone pays with a money order it does take longer for you to ship the item out and who doesn't want to get rid of their items.  Requesting that payment be received within 7 days of the end of the auction is the same as if someone used paypal and didn't pay until the 6th or 7th day.  Sometimes you may not hear back from a buyer who pays with a money order but you get that with paypal too you know?
