Old Mule All Lit Up!

Busy day of errands and painted much of the afternoon and evening on two new pieces. I am so happy with this mule! He was a colorful fellow which I always like to play up I think I will work on a white horse next! I understand it is supposed to cool off quite a bit with all this rain. I am looking foward to opening up the windows and sleeping snuggly under the covers again. Doesn't the time change soon? Well, I am going to try to make it an early to bed night. Hope your week is going great and thanks as always for checking in! Norma Wilson Original Oil Brown And White Irish Cow ArtPosted Sep-30-08 18:56:28 PDT Updated Sep-30-08 18:57:11 PDT

I absolutely love this cow! She looks very shy and a bit coy and I really enjoyed all the subtleties of color and the softness of her fur against the soft background. Hope you like her too! I thought this cow had such a sweet face and a softness about her. I think I captured it. She was fun to spend time with this afternoon.
What a speedy week it has been. I have been painting a lot and had my student over yesterday. Tomorrow I am at Harbor's Edge for a class again. I reorganized my studio a bit and now have shelving with a wooden palette on top of it in front of my easel and I am really liking the new set up. It's amazing how a change like that can make you so much more productive. It has been such a windy, rainy day today. It felt like it was night time all day and the rain was torrential for hours. I was proud of myself for resisting the urge to take a nap and completed three paintings! Hope your Friday and the weekend are great! This little guy really took on a whimsical quality as I painted him. I think it is his stance. He really looks like he is on the stump and giving an important speech. Too much late night Larry King Live for me, I suppose. Well, it was another great day of shipping, organizing my studio some more, and teaching this afternoon. My student, Kathy, worked on a lovely landscape with herons in the marsh grasses. It reminded me of our trip there last week. Hope your day is bright tomorrow and full of fun and whimsy! |
