Untraditional College Students Unite!!!!Posted May-05-08 11:53:05 PDT I have been to brick and mortar colleges 3X. Never finished because of kids, money, all the usual reasons. I had pretty much decided I would never bother to finish but circumstances in my life changed. Becoming a grief counselor has become important to me and, in order to accomplish that goal, I need to get a 4 year degree in psychology. I found an accredited online college, found out 42 of my past credits were accepted (whoo hoo!) and got signed up. Class starts today. I am just taking one to get started as they are quite intense (7 1/2 week sessions) but, leaving off the drive and lecture time, I don't foresee it as taking too much time. I remember when I attended a community college the last time I had a lady in my class who had just turned 50. She decided to go to school despite having no family support and she was terrified. I had to admire her tenacity and decisiveness. Now, all these years later, I AM that lady! Not so sure about those qualities as applied to myself but guess we will see! Wish me luck!
