Lack of latch hook supplies in craft stores

I recently became addicted to doing latch hook rug kits. I was surprised to find that many craft stores no longer carry the kits or the supplies necessary to make your own. I guess it's not as popular as it once was.  When I was a kid, latch hook kits could easily be found in most stores. Hobby Lobby and Michael's do sell some kits, but they all seem a bit boring to me.  Our local JoAnn store doesn't sell anything related to latch hooking. Thankfully, I can still find some vintage '70s kits here on Ebay. They seem to have more character and are a lot more fun to do. My one complaint about the old kits is that they generally don't have the pattern grid on a separate sheet; they make us rely on printed canvas for our pattern, and those printed canvas patterns are not the best way to go.
