Most Recent Posts Who knows what invaluable treasures lie herein?Posted Aug-09-06 18:21:11 PDT Long since the days of pirates on the bounding main, and long past the time of the conquistidores crossing the seas in search of gold, come the bold searchers after the seldom-seen, the hidden treasure found on ebay: the Twenty First Century seeker after his fortune, and the finder thereof. Before millions of searching eyes lies the horde of a lifetime, the bounty of the fortuitous, the plunder of the plucky- the ebay FIND that the tireless picker bids on, pays little for, wins, and multiplies his wealth therefrom. He who has eyes to see has seen and has bought, and he who has eyes but does not see, overlooks. Who knows what invaluable tresure lies therein? The answer is for you, each day anew, and each item again, to discover. Search, search, search and you will find. And so it was, and is, and shall be. Selling for 30 years, and still so much to learn!Posted Jun-24-06 09:13:26 PDT I have sold 18th and 19th Century items, and now, reluctantly 20th Century items, and am always amazed at what meaning or meaninglessness the word "Antiques" contains and communicates. Although I hardly sell furniture, when I say, "I am an antiques dealer" the most likely response is, "What kind of antiques?" My response is usually, "Etuis, bilston boxes, tunbridge ware, treen, faience, shakudo, that sort of thing". I am met with a blank stare. But I blunder on, sticking to my exotic, esoteric items, and seeking to find a niche in cyberspace. Anyone else out there like that? Sometimes-often-I feel I know nothing! Timbeautogo |
