Violin labeled Ansaldo Poggi

Item of the week is a reddish-gold violin labeled Ansaldo Poggi.
It is one of the two instruments that came to our shop for an online auction.

The second instrument listing will be up, hopefully by the end of tomorrow, a light yello violin labeled Fiorni.
Both instruments are nicely setup for ready to play conditions.  They would also make a beautiful addition to any eBay violin collectors out there.

Other items to look forward to, an assortmen of cello bridges of Despiau and Aubert quality.

Unrelated eBay news...

After a bit of a slow start on our bricks and mortar end, we've finally caught up with some big sales.  Our big shop item, a violin by Maurizio Tadioli, finally sold to a happy customer.

The Tadioli has created quite a buzz as we've had a number of calls to the shop last week, all inquiring about the instrument.  Don't worry, we'll hear back soon as to when the next instrument comes home to our shop.  For those of you who can't wait, shoot us an email about the Quranta violin that is in our shop.  We hope to get some photos online and short description as well.

On top of that, on Sunday, we outfitted three students with brand new string instruments under our rental program.

Violin Auctions for the Week

As you can see, we currently have steady stream of items being listed on a weekly basis.  The latest additions was an old viola case and violin by Job Ardern.  The violin should keep bidders excited over the weekend as this is an instrument that's not only worth collecting but playing on it as well.

Besides the usual task of uploading weekly eBay items, we are busy drafting a catalog of our entire shop item to teachers and dealers.  It's the most comprehensive thing we have done since our annual inventory count.  We plan to have this catalog available on our website in the near future.

Other thing to note, we have started experimenting and tweaking our typical listing layout.  Having to learn HTML seemed cumbersome at first but it's given us more control over visual flow of the layout like inserting pictures into the description or links to other sites.  We would like some better features in these listings like sound clips of the instruments being played.  Hopefully you'll see some improvements and we'll be get better as we go.

eBay 2007 String Instrument Auction Goals

Currently we are putting together a list of goals for the year and our recent e-commerce success on eBay has lead to more specific goals.

  1. We hope to obtain PowerSeller status by the end of February.
  2.
  3. Reach the 50 Star Feedback- with a 100% rating as well.
  4.
  5. Edit our current layout template for listing descriptions for a more visually appealing and user-friendly style.
  6.
  7. Investigate possibly opening up an eBay store.
  8.
  9. Continue to experiment with listings and items to see what eBayers would like to bid on.

Violin by Job Arden & German Strad Copy Cello

The auction item of the week, we feature an item that you can't miss: a full size violin by Job Ardern.
Look for tomorrow when we load up the listing.

Another auction taking place, is a full size German Cello that has been consigned to our shop.
It is good solid beginner cello that was likely to have been just made after WWII.
