Archive - March 2007 New violin photos for the futurePosted Mar-30-07 19:04:57 PDT We finally installed our makeshift photo studio in the back of our packing room. With 3 panels of 511K flourscent bulb suspended by cello strings, we can finally take some quality photos! No more glares or shadows but only clean consistent white backdrops.
For you bidder's out there, you'll truely see the difference in our future listings. Next project, recording studio. -Ollavaca New auction itemsPosted Mar-28-07 19:16:20 PDT This week, we have two instruments that were consigned to us for auction. First is a violin and second is a cello. Both need some touch up work The violin also came with a bow that will need to be rehaired before auction. Hope to have these items up on eBay before the end of the week. -Ollavaca 50 stars and countingPosted Mar-20-07 19:06:37 PDT We've reached a miletone folks. A 100% positive feedback rating with 50 stars! Granted this rating was made possible by auctioning off items found around the store, we hope to beef up the flow of fine instruments online after all the taxes and bills have cleared. -Ollavaca Carved Boxwood parts for a violin...Posted Mar-16-07 16:18:09 PDT Today was an exciting day as our order of Indian parts came. Fancy carved violin parts like pegs, chinrest, tailpieces, and endbutton came in a variety of woods and models! We also ordered some inlayed parts as well. We hope these items do well online as we place our first carved outfit up for auction this week. Happy Biddings! -Ollavaca Better eBay listings for the futurePosted Mar-07-07 21:11:36 PST We've continued to experiment which kind of eBay listing layouts work. So far, the conservative white background with key pictures inserted in the description is what we've presented. However, we think we can make this static page a little more dynamic. Not only do we want better quality pictures but also video to accompany them as well. Anyone can slap on an embedded object with a YouTube video in their listing but we want the clip to camoflouge and flow with the description. Any way, this will be our next big eBay listing project as we try to figure the logistics of filming, camera equipment, lighting, and recording equipment. At least figuring out who plays our auction instruments is not a problem, since we always have a good player onhand in the shop. Hopefully, some of these ideas can somehow be integrated onto our main website as well. In other news, thank you all out there clicking on over to our website. Our webmaster notes our rise in page hits thanks to you eBayers and Amazon customers out there. Speaking of more web hits, we've also seen a rise over at Amazon as well. Check our online store over there for our special offers on string instrument case by Concord Cases. They offer uniqe cases that aren't found in many shops like bow cases, double cases, and quad cases. Happy Biddings! -Ollavaca |
