Most Recent Posts Happy Birthday, David CarusoPosted Jan-07-07 07:30:22 PST Happy New Year, everyonePosted Jan-01-07 01:30:34 PST So it's now New Year 2007. We've lived through yet another year, and I'm feeling older by the second. I've been listening to U2 tonight. (Am I the only person on the planet who thought U2's "New Year's Day" was a fittitng way to ring in the new year?) Bono has always been outspoken politicially, but I guess he had to hit his mid-40's ~middle age~ before anyone took him seriously. I've listened to U2 for 20 years now. Oooh, I'm feeling old. 3:30 AM Central Time, and I'm still awake and still drinking. Eat, drink and be merry I say... but since my goal is to lose 60 pounds in 2007, I guees that means I'll just have to drink and be merry... ;) The Grinch who stole my ChristmasPosted Dec-27-06 08:08:09 PST Updated Jul-31-08 17:50:58 PDT My purse got stolen just a few days before Christmas. I had $120 cash, two credit/debit cards, a checkbook, my driver's license, my Socal Security card, my daughter's Social Security card, my cell phone, and a digital camera in it. I got the debit cards frozen and the checking account red-flagged immediately. I also had my cell phone account suspended until I got a new phone from the company. I got a replacement driver's license the next day, and I ordered a new digital camera from amazon. I still need to get the SS cards replaced, but I'm getting there.
What I can't replace though... and what really pishes me off... are all the pictures of my kid that are gone. There were about 50 or so in the digital camera from both Halloween parties and Christmas parties, and I had every school picture of her from 1st through 7th grade as well as her 1st Communion picture in my wallet. Those can't be replaced the way a cell phone or camera can.
It's like one of those Mastercard commercials gone bad...
Stolen purse: $20
Cash on hand:$120
Wallet: $15
Cell Phone: $50
Digital Camera: $150
Pictures of my kid: Priceless
I also had a couple of ID pictures of my kid in case she ever went missing. They list personal information as well as identifying features (birthmarks, etc.). The cards were only meant for myself and the police, and now some frigging criminal has them! How do I even sleep at night?!? Sleeping pills help.
So I hope they caught the thief and that he got to spend Christmas Day in jail with Bubba the Lifer... |
