WILDFIRES in CALIFORNIA

Doesn't matter where you are in the country (I am on the East Coast) this online community has no bounds.

I was thrilled to hear most of the people I have met online from  CALIFORNIA were safe.

I heard of one who lost it all except some of their pets.

It was heartening to see people from all over rush to aid this woman who lost all but one horse and her cat... and  now has the clothes on her back and aid of friends helping her with her surviving dogs.

The AOL online "family" of the Canine Behavior Board has come through for her.

This is one tiny (in the great scheme...) example of the best of the internet...a blessing.

Look past the scammers and frauds of the inter net and the world we all share online is very small.

Art Helping Animals artists have also stepped up with rescue (hands on) and selfless behaviors traveling from other states with horse trailers and medical care to help! Making the most of the worst... to help.

Check in on your friends...send funds or gift cards if you live too far to serve in person.

When one part of the country is effected by disaster we join hands across the country!

Thanks to the firefighters and "neighbors" ...blessings to all the helpers!

Pray for healing of the people, pets and land.  For those of us removed from this disaster, give thanks for all you have....we never know when it might be our turn ...HEAVEN FORBID.

Miguel the Macaw

Wonderful reference photos from a generous artist friend allowed me to use my imagination to design a painting of a colorful MACAW ...my first, of Miguel. (see him in the latest listing by clicking the seller link)

Stella Violano is a giving artist totally dedicated to helping animals with art and remains a leader who I look up to in this area of ART that HELPS homeless animals in the care of hundreds of hands on volunteers.  She supplied the wonderful refs that helped me learn about this gorgeous macaw.

We support these rescues at Art Helping Animals with our original art in an association or fellowship of mutually supportive artists. This environment is an incredible place of rich enthusiasm that just propels you on to create work that you know will directly impact on the lives of abandoned, needy animals and animals in medical crisis that WILL be rehabbed and WILL find that forever home or safe sanctuary to live out their lives.

I remain inspired by the spirit of  the volunteers who care for these animals as well as the artists I work beside in this mission to make a difference.

Dachshunds...Hot little dogs in ART.

Art is more than itself...or should be. I say this mantra over and over to myself as I review my work.

Artists should not do a lot of talking, in my humble opinion, unless their art is a verbal one.

...and yet...here I am "speaking" in a blog again.

It is a way to get the word out and tell people interested, or maybe just passing by, what you are up to and what is coming up.

That screams "a commercial!" ...LOL. But you have to let people know, so better yet we'll say it is a "public service announcement."

Here it is: Doxie Art is currently being created to assist the DACHSHUND ADOPTION RESCUE & EDUCATION group (DARE or DRAC are the search letters) that the artists at ART HELPING ANIMALS supports with donations from sales of our artwork.

JULY 12-22 there will be a group listing on Ebay with a variety of new Dachshund art.

Tell Your Doxie loving friends to check in and see what we have come up with as we paint for these hot little dogs ...the rescue helps some of the neediest little guys keeping them in foster care until they are well enough to be adopted. Please view their site through our www.arthelpinganimals.com pages.

20% of my sales go to rescue. Thanks for reading.

I appreciate the comments on the previous blog entry!
